So any coach that commits a secondary violation is "cheating scum"??? Or is your ax grinding due to CBP's lies to the NCAA regarding the secondary violation?

Why is it a foregone conclusion that CBP will never coach here again? I would like specific reasons. If he has served his show cause, what is stopping us from hiring him back?

Maybe I don't get it. But you just don't hire someone back that puts you in that situation. I had this discussion recently - would a company hire someone back who lied and cheated? Probably not.

There's that dang cheated thing again. Is this about the BBQ thing or did I sleep through something. I almost slept through Cam Newton's Dad being paid but I woke up. 'Course, that was minor and nothing ever came of it.

A company would hire Adolf Hitler if it made the shareholders happy. Wins are notoriety. Notoriety is ratings. Ratings is money. Pearl makes UT money.

Ok. Where were you when Pearl lead UT Knoxville to the victory over Ohio State, who was seeded way higher than us to reach the Elite 8. Plus we were in the NCAA Tourney every year he was here. Now we get blasted in the NIT, which is the acronym for (Not in Tournament).

i think the most difficult part of re-hiring Pearl (outside the current admin and stigma) would be that his show cause doesnt end util August 2014. Not prime coach hiring time.

Look, the funny thing is I loved Bruce, and I hated when we fired him. But you don't rehire someone that put you in a bad spot. Yes, the NCAA sucks. But our program made a decision to terminate him. You can't rehire him. It doesn't make sense. People think its that easy, and it isn't.

A lot of programs have fired coaches because the NCAA was breathing down their necks.

It's as close to a complete impossibility as it gets.
