The Official Thread of Josh Selby

Actually yes, apparently he is.
I'm amazed at the ganshing and wailing about a guy who couldn't handle his business at DeMatha and whose AAU coach wouldn't recommend to the guys who normally get his players. I said it when he committed to UT, I said it when he pulled his pledge. This guy is going to be a continual migraine for whoever "wins" this sweepstakes.

Quite possibly yes.

He won't bring anything new to the table in that dept.

Quite possibly yes.
I'm amazed that people haven't noticed the conspicuous absences from his list of suitors from the start and figured this out. When a guy who anyone who knows the D.C. area AAU scene would figure would be right in the fight for Selby calls him "the second coming of Jonathan Hargett," that should raise some flags. It's kind of like Calhoun and Sampson taking a pass on Ramar. You have to figure they know something.

The question is Hat, will Selby's game he brings be worth the migraine?

if get a reccomitt from a former deccommit id rather get antony jr a 5 star pg 6,5 204 in 2011 class, wroten committed as a 8th or 9th grader,

My vote is no, but opinions vary.

If I recall correctly, Wall was talked about as a possible problem too. So far, I think Kentucky as fairly ok with how things have turned out.

I guess I am thinking that if we are talking about Ramar Smith talent, then it is probably not anywhere near worth it, but if you are talking near John Wall type talent, then the risks are often outweighed by the possible benefits.

I know my emotions were much more mixed about the Markeith Ambles football recruit, but I certainly do not know anything except what I read. Hey, if Ky AND KU are still interested, why wouldn't TN be?

Not trying to bring up the whole Hatvol fans vs. CPB fans argument here, but I have a question for you Hat.

Does that mean you would rather have Melvin Goins as your starting PG next year than Josh Selby?

Selby is really what we are missing:

PG - Selby
SG - Hopson
SF - Tatum
PF - Harris
C - Hall

Reserves:
Goins, McBee, McRae, Maymon, Williams, Golden, Woolridge, Pearl, Bone

He was the most talented player who had committed to Pearl to that point. Doesn't change the fact he's a pain in the ass.

if selby is a "one and done" like many say, then a one year migraine wont hurt that much. its when you have to deal with it more than once, for an extended amount of times that gets people all riled up.

Nothing new in the Rivals article. It basically repeats everything that has already been said on here.

On rivals an article was posted about whether or not UT is back in it with Selby. I dont have a subscription but can someone more priveliged than I give me a summary?
thanks in advance and here is a link
Meyer's Mailbag: Vols back in with Selby?

It basically says:

- CBP would love to sign Selby.

- CBP is being persistent

- While we are making a strong push and while we are a legitimate contender Selby is not expected to sign with the vols.

yeah, bill self is clueless

I read somewhere in here that Selby was deciding on the 31st? Is that correct.? If so, that is the night of the McDonalds AA game which would mean some great publicity for us on national Tv if he chose the Vols.
