The Official Thread of Josh Selby

I think what your seeing is a case of Selby's mother being very politically correct in her statements. She has stated all along that just because they left Tennessee doesn't mean they "still aren't in the mix", they just wanted to look around again and make sure it was the right decision.

Reading between the lines, obviously he wasn't happy with his choice and wants to go elsewhere. Its just a matter of not making statements that will give away any intentions, one way or the other.

Unless some serious communication is going on that nobody knows about, UT is not a real player for Selby anymore.

UT is in the mix as much as any of the favorites at this point. Probably a notch higher.

OK chief. Whatever you say.

It's not what I say, it's what I know. No need to be a smartass. I'm not saying he'll end up at Tennessee, he may still end up about 3 or 4 different places but Tennessee is still very much in the picture. I would say if it weren't for a hurdle Tennessee would be solidly in the lead.

And what is that hurdle?

Selby is not going to UT. He and his mother are only interested in the best way to NBA dollars. This program and coach does not have a track record for putting kids in the NBA.

Life's mysteries are usually pretty easy to figure out. Just follow the money.

That really clears things up. Thanks.

But all that's going to change after Harris goes to the NBA. There will be CJ Watson, Chism, Harris, and maybe Hopson if he ever lives up to his potential.

Selby starts in the fall of THIS year.

Harris will have not played a game. Hopson will be Hopson at UT. Chism will not have been through the draft (if he's drafted) by the time Selby makes his decision.

So, we have C.J. Who is playing on the most unstable team in the NBA and may not be back next year. Besides, I don't think Selby wants to see the only UT grad in the NBA had to spend a couple of years in the D-League to get developed.

Satisfying your recruiting fix doesn't really rank all that high up on my list.

I'm only posting as much as I'm able, not really terribly important to me if it is what you want to hear or not.

Considering I didn't ask for your vague answers to help alleviate my "fix", I'd say were both in agreement that we'd rather not hear each other. Its not terribly important to me if you post period.

In a way, were in agreement.

So are you our Marc Maggard?

Do you actually have information when you post stuff like this?

I know some things yes. I just can't say any of them without getting my ass beat.

If there were someone on here I knew and/or trusted I would probably tell them who I am. Until then, I'll just hold onto my anonymity like the rest, and laugh when people like the Hardwood dude when they mock me.

Fair enough.

I would say I'm more the Bud Fox type, only honest.

Might not be such a great comparison but all I can think of right now.

Whatever the case, I bet you don't have the awesome frosted hair that Maggard has.

Ogilvy is the only one who comes close, with his frosted tips.

Because of principal, I must formally say aloud that Maggard is a huge tool.

There, I feel better.

Roswellvol,

I meant once Harris and Chism are actually in the NBA, then we'll start getting players like selby, who are one and done. Watson has been doing good this year. He had 20 pts, 6 stls, and like 5 ast tonight.

Laugh all you want, your the one saying that your "somebody" but that you can't "say who you are" because your important.

I have heard this story time and time again. So until you feel the need to prove otherwise, you will continously be mocked. Not by me however, I have said my peace.
