I wish the Cowboys would trade up and select Patrick Peterson. But that seems to just be a pipe-dream at this point. Most analysts have us selecting a OT at #9 such as Tyron Smith. I really hope we trade up and pick up Patrick Peterson, but if not it won't be the end of the world. The Cowboys need all the help they can get though.

And fine, cam newton is a first rounder. Now watch as the team who picks him top 5 bombs in the way that only bad high picks can take out a team.

I still think Locker will be the choice. We were in love with him dating back to last year, seem to be really interested this year, and Palmer is using every bit of his influence to get us to take him at #8. As I mentioned with all the QB needy teams I'd rather be safe than sorry and go ahead and get our guy at #8.

Locker probably would have been the number 1 pick last year. I see no problem taking him high if you feel he will be a great player

That may be but Locker is at least willing to work hard at trying to make his game better. By all accounts he has good character, a great teammate, a leader, hard worker, etc.

It won't be the Titans.

Locker, by all accounts, is a great teammate and person.

That doesn't change the fact he's constantly injured and isn't accurate with his passes.

I agree with you about Fairley. When he wants to dominate, he can. He just takes a lot of plays off and is going to be penalized and fined every game for how he drives QBs in the dirt.

Drake Nevis from LSU is going to be a steal for someone needing a DT.

Matt Ryan's senior year completion percentage was 59%

Brett Favre's was 55% in 88, 54% in 89, and 54% in 90

I mean that's just two examples, college stats don't mean anything in the pros. If they did Colt Breenen would be a starting QB in league and Brett Favre shouldn't have been...

I think it is very possible that the Titans take Locker but I think that IF (very big if) there are no trades before Tennessee picks then Gabbert will be available. I get the feeling that the Bills, Cardinals, and 49ers will all pass on him. I'd say the top 7 looks like this
CAR: Newton
DEN: Dareus
BUF: Miller
CIN: Green
ARZ: Peterson
CLE: Quinn
SF: Amukamara
If Gabbert fell to the Titans he would be the best pick IMO but I could easily see a team like Washington trading up for him before the Titans could pick. Then I'd guess that they would take Locker or Fairley.

Matt Ryan was 25-7 as a starter.

Brett Favre took a God-awful Southern Miss squad and beat nationally ranked Alabama and Florida State.

Locker beat who? An underacheiving USC team?

You can overlook an inaccurate arm if the guy's winning. You can't if he's losing every other game.

IYO, what changed in a year with Locker? If he would have come out last year, he was predicted as a top 3 pick.

Nothing changed.

I've never thought he was a franchise QB.

I think he can be a decent starting QB but I don't think he's ever going to be a franchise guy.

I wouldn't use the #8 overall pick on him.
