8pm, Draft time in New York
Gotta be fresh, gotta go downtown
Wanna be cool, go to the Super Bowl
Seein’ everything, the clock is tickin’
Tickin’ on and on, everybody’s crushin’
Gotta get down to Good-dell
Gotta make my pick, I see my friends (New Rookies)

Kickin’ with a Q-B
Sittin’ with a D-T
Gotta make my mind up
Which guy should I take?

It’s Draft-Day, Draft-Day
Gotta get down on Draft-Day
Everybody’s lookin’ forward to Draft-Day, Draft-Day
Draft-Day, Draft-Day
Gettin’ down Draft-Day, Draft-Day
Everybody’s lookin’ forward to the season.

Partyin’, partyin’ (Yeah)
Partyin’, partyin’ (Yeah)
Fun, fun, fun, fun
Lookin’ forward to the season

Curse you Panthro! That song is now stuck in my head.

IYO, what changed in a year with Locker? If he would have come out last year, he was predicted as a top 3 pick.

Draft projections for a guy that has not gone through the combine or done personal workouts and interviews with NFL teams are totally worthless. It didn't matter when Locker declared for the draft, he never had any shot of being drafted in the Top 3. He had the same deficiencies last year that he has this year. He's just not a franchise QB. Any team that drafts this guy in the Top 15 is making a colossal mistake.

Herm Edwards' head might explode today. Out of all the talking heads, he's the one I'd put money on losing it on camera.

Maybe, but he'd have to go pretty off for it to be better than classics like "Matt Millen's on-air apology for making a joke about Pollocks" (less than a commercial break after he said it)

YouTube - Matt Millen Polack Apology
YouTube - Matt Millen Apologizes To The Polacks
(two versions, depending on preference)

And (I can't find video), but Keyshawn Johnson's comments when Dwayne Jarrett was drafted "This guy is much like me. I'm going to teach him how to play from the point of attack" only to get cut like the next day

What's even better about that situation is that Jarrett even managed to produce less than Johnson for the Panthers. I miss Mushin Muhammad. He was an outstanding #2 receiver to compliment Smitty.
I still think the dumbest draft-day comment was made by Kiper last year. "Jimmy Clausen is the most pro-ready Quarterback in this class."

Nothing changed.

I've never thought he was a franchise QB.

I think he can be a decent starting QB but I don't think he's ever going to be a franchise guy.

I wouldn't use the #8 overall pick on him.

I'm not sure about the other stuff but I agree with the last part.

I'm thinking Fairley. Don't know how I feel about it either, IF it happens.

You know everyone is bored when Dr. Phil is on ESPN's pre-draft coverage.

At least if I'm forced to watch the Titans draft Jake Locker, I'll have delicious girl shots to drink!

Sorry, late to the game...my quick thoughts:

1) the Panthers are throwing millions away along with 5 years if they draft Scam.

2) who was the fastest player at the combine? I just want a quick heads up on who the raiders will try to pick in the second round.

3) which wr do you think the Lions draft this year?

4) where oh where do the Titans even start? Sheesh....

Those aren't that great. The funniest one ever was when Colts GM Bill Tobin absolutely ripped into Mel Kiper for criticizing one of their draft picks. I think it was in the early 90's.

I found the quote:

Indianapolis Colts manager Bill Tobin who praised Kiper saying, "Who in the hell is Mel Kiper, anyway? I mean, here's a guy who criticizes everybody, whoever they take. In my knowledge of him, he's never even put on a jockstrap, he's never been a player, he's never been a coach, he's never been a scout, he's never been an administrator, and all of a sudden, he's an expert. Mel Kiper has no more credentials to do what he's doing than my neighbor, and my neighbor's a postman and he doesn't even have season tickets to the NFL."

One GM absolutely ripped on him (we're probably thinking of the same thing but I thought it was the Colts) and said there's a reason he's never worked for an NFL team.

Never had one.

I'm not a coffee drinker but I'd try it despite the coffee flavor. Drunk is drunk.

I like the way the Baileys and the Gran Marnier mix together with it

What's fun, too, is to take a really cold spoon and pour the different ingredients over the back of it. They're densities are all different, so they end up forming layers:

Yep. It was the Colts. I edited my post. It now includes the quote. It was so hilarious I almost spewed beer on the TV when I saw it.
