The Official Vandy @ Tennessee Series Thread (4/21 6PM EST SEC NETWORK) (4/22 Noon EST ESPN2) (4/23 1PM EST ESPN2)

After his 3 IP Friday, do I wonder if Burns would be available today for an inning? After Doe's gem yesterday I'd assume rest of our fine bullpen would all be available.

You sort of answered the first part with the 2nd part. There's no reason to push Burns today (doubt he'd be available regardless) with all those unused arms available in the bullpen. Dollander did us a huge favor yesterday. Well, he and the run rule. Zero bullpen usage. Connell, Halvorsen, Combs, Fanning, Fitz (1 BF Friday), Russell, Jenkins, and even Zander (in a pinch) are all available.

I have watched it several times. Christian must have said something pretty strong. I thought in real time when it happened that he ejected him immediately so I could not understand why they let him go back on the field. I do not think the umpire should have pushed him like he did but I don't think us sending in a report on it would help our case with SEC umpires a bit.
I thought the runner used excessive force in real time but after watching it Doe did block the plate and I will take the shove over him sliding in and cleating Doe's legs and ankles. It was chippy at that point and I'm sure Vandy was not happy with the score.
During the fracas Tennessee players stayed in their dugout, while vandie poured out of theirs. Where WAS that 3rd base ump?

Moore was involved in an incident 3-4 innings before this incident. Vandy had a guy on 2nd and for some reason Moore walked up to the runner and said something. The Vandy guy held out his arms as if to say “what was that for?” The umpire took a couple of steps toward the players and said something to Moore. It seems that Moore went out of his way to walk over to the runner and say whatever he had to say.

I‘m all for defending your teammates, but when a guy keeps setting himself up, the umpires keep watching. They’ve got a short leash for tolerance right now, so don’t put yourself in situations that bring attention to yourself. I‘m not saying the ejection was correct, just relaying what happened on the field beforehand that viewers might not have seen.
