Yeah - but don't try to act like racking up the win totals in sub par leagues makes him so awesome because he has 400 wins. I don't want to discredit the man - but his record at Tennessee should be the thing we're focused on. He shouldn't be hyped up because he was the 4th or whatever fastest to win 300/400 games or whatever.

He's an overall good coach, and those good coaches should dominate at teams like Southern Indiana and Wisconsin-Milwauke. If he had started out at some bigger schools (would have been the case if not for the tape recording incident) you wouldn't be talking about 400 wins or the 4th fastest coach.

Ray Mears was one of the best coaches in the country when he was at UT... as was Don DeVoe.

As a matter of fact I do. How could I forget those 2 awesome 1st round NIT losses. Or how I used to get all 4 of my dad's office tickets on a regular basis because nobody at his office wanted them, and then not even being able to give all the tickets away to my friends because nobody wanted to go. I still have probably 20 unused B'ball tix in my ticket stub collection at home. When I did actually go to the games, there would be about 4,000 people at the game. Then there was the one time every year when we played UK and the arena would be packed because all the Kentucky fans would show up to turn TBA into Rupp Arena South. My how far we've come, so please everyone stop complaining about a few early season losses.

I get sick when I look at that stat they always put up and they have Bruce Pearl's face next to Coach K, Roy Williams, etc. Yes, he's done great things - but I think its stupid he's compared to them because he dominated Division II for what? 9 years?

Well that post did it for me. As if the others were not bad enough you just said that this years team has more talent than that 2000 team. Now that, sir, is a joke. The 2000 team made it to the Sweet 16 (not elite 8) in spite of their horrible coach due to nothing other than an overwhelming amount of talent. Those teams wasted a ton of talent.
