The Official Zone Severe Weather Thread

I worked at a place years ago, right out of high school, up in Kentucky. We had a tornado warning, touched down a mile from us. There was an announcement for all management to come to the conference room(the tornado safety area). A few minutes later, ine of them came iut and started telling people what happened. They didn't want to stop production, so they only allowed management, and office people to take shelter. That boss, and about 25 employees walked out.
Didn't something similar happen at a candle factory in KY only a few years ago? Except it got hit directly by the tornado

edit: Yup, I remember it from when I was stationed at Campbell

The governor has gotten Major Disaster Area designation for NC. Surely the Tennessee governor will do the same.

Stop politicizing a natural disaster. You’re an idiot.
I basically have stopped responding to him. He's a dolt. Spouts crap about sports he doesn't know. Continues to spread BS info. @Freak needs to do something about the crap he is spreading in this thread alone. Never walked back the half dozen dams he said collapsed.

We’re in Greenville SC in a hotel for a few days to try to stock up on water and ice. But it will be weeks for water restoration.

On the drive down I-26 today, I saw multiple convoys of emergency repair vehicles heading in the other direction, easily a hundred or more. My eyes had teared up so much that I thought I’d have to pull off the road.

I’m so grateful for people, everyday people, who step up to help their neighbors in need.

Some people expect .gov help next day. That's not how it works. Some places can't be gotten to next day or next 2 or 3 days.

At the bare minimum, the .gov could declare the TN flooding a major disaster and not limit the state to $5M in emergency funds.....

Just like SC with Debby, MS with Francine, and TN with Helene, they are still waiting. Vermont gets it for 2-3 inches of rain and minor localized flooding....

Well, with a conspiracy like that, you would think GA would be top of the list since they delivered their state to Biden.

TN needs to be designated immediately. This one should be a no brainer....

Im not a big fan of govt aid but if you are going to do it, it needs to be even handed.

I don't disagree but expecting it to happen overnight is a stretch. Especially with this admin.

It happened (correctly) overnight for NC. There was a lot of immediate needs in that state that exceeded a 5 million cap and the locals arent going to have their hands tied with recovery...

Just saying it wouldnt have taken anymore time to add TN and SC (added 48 hours later after Clyburn's griping)...

So to be honest I didn't even notice the text of tweet, I was posting for the message from the firefighter/rescue. Though I would not trust this admin to manage any crisis.

Expat is triggert. I posted the messages that were being given out about dams, TVA literally thought the dam was failing... I thought it might be useful, as some people may have friends or loved ones in the area. By all means ignore me.....lol Your input is not required by I.

@Pennheel, how are you and your family doing? I’m having to watch WLOS from SC, and I haven’t caught up on the Waynesville area.

Thankfully, we're doing okay. The benefit of living on a mountain side. The areas nearest to the Pigeon River weren't so lucky. I rode through Canton and Clyde yesterday. The little town of Clyde is more or less no more where it sits on the river. People going through mud picking up belongings, throwing away belongings that can no longer be used due to the River going into their homes. Canton was blocked off due to the damage. The Pisgah high school football field was ruined from what I saw online as was the softball and likely baseball field. Most of the old paper plant was covered in debris and belongings.

You could really see the damage 💔 😢 after the River receded. Heartbreaking stuff. Peoples homes condemned due to the damage...

and your posts were refuted in literally minutes. You are nothing more than a **** stirrer and in this situation and in this thread you should be banned. I also don't think Expat means what you think it does but you go ahead and think it's an insult if it gets you excited.

Put you on ignorance? You haven't reached that level yet. Ridiculing your ignorance is too much fun.

My wife was telling me that several small communities have just ceased to exist in the mountains. So glad to hear you and yours are doing OK.

I would expect Fed funding to increase when the extent becomes known. This was yesterday.

Gov Lee asked for it 4 days ago. He got the Congressional delegation, including Cohen, involved when he didnt get an immediate answer. He has used social media when that didnt work.

It's clear the extent FAR exceeds what is needed to get a Major designation....

Well considering your penchet for wanting to silence people I guess that tells me all I need to know. But honestly I'm tired of feuding with you, I didn't start it, but you won't ever let it go. For someone who talks about being older, you're acting like petulant butt hurt teen. Get over yourself. I posted news on the Flood as it was happening, and because I felt much of the info was pertenant, and many did want to see, and hear about it. Others did the same. If you don't wish to see it scroll on. You're just pissed I didn't roll over and because I called you an expat. Or maybe because you know on a lot of previous topics I was right.... Eitherway, your the one who keeps trying to start stuff with me in every thread. It's getting way too cereal for me and the zone. If you want you can argue with me in PF, though at this point I doubt I'd respond. Otherwise just how about calming down....
