The Official Zone Severe Weather Thread

Started snowing in Hoptown about 7:15 so I hopped in the Prius and headed to work. Got about halfway and found out it had been snowing north of us since about 5 am. Now I gots to get home.

Most snow I ever personaly saw was in Feb one year heading to Lincoln, NE. I was 8th grade so maybe 1978. Dad had and interview at Nebraska. WE ran I-75 up to Evansville, IN and spent hte night there. Got up next morning to head west...car was literally half buried in snow drift. One side and over the top could not see. Get to Lincoln and riding around town sight seeing and browsing housing the snow is like 3 feet deep and they just snow blow all hte sidewalks and stuff. At roads edge you can't even see over the snow to the sidewalk. Don't know if that was a normal winter or what, but he stayed at UGA. Which was good, cause two years later he was put in charge of the Peanut CRSP USAID program as Director run through the university and got a healthy raise.

Easiest way to decide if you want to move to the Great Plains area is go in mid winter.
