The Officiating Thread - UGA

We got beat, but the pass interference on Squirrel was one of the most obvious. The corner swiped his arms and the Football was at least 2 ft from reaching him. That was a bad missed pass interference. In fairness there was one that could have went against Tennessee but it was much closer and Georgia had another one that could have been called but was also in the close range which is forgivable. The one against Squirrel was a no brainer and a badly missed call. But it didn’t keep us from winning I will not go there. Still the officiating could be a lot better than it is, Sankey needs to quit sugar coating it. GBO

Both were the correct calls and obviously so
If so obvious, why did one require a reversal after Tennessee recovered the ball ?
The other fumble was even more obvious than the reversal.
And if those "bobbles" were ruled as incomplete passes, then why wasn't the pass still not in secure possession by the Georgia receiver as he ran out of bounds all of the sudden a completion ?
Can't have it both ways unless, of course, you are Georgia at home in desperate need of a win to stay in contention for the CFP.

I didn't notice anyone here blaming the officials for those losses, just this specific Georgia game regarding very specific calls on crucial plays that directly impacted the outcome.
True. Last time our fans were upset at refs was when Bama held our dline and even had us in chokeholds last year and refs refused to throw flags. I didn’t blame refs and don’t remember anybody else doing that for last years Missouri or 2022 SC loss. Some of us know when we are just getting our ass kicked by the other team and refs played no part in it. Georgia this year was kicking our ass and getting gifts from the refs to go with it. Also this year Arkansas, refs had nothing to do with us losing that game. Arkansas outplayed us.

The picture I quoted shows this ref being the one in the Missouri and South Carolina game. Inferring that we always lose when he refs. We lost those games.. they didn’t need his help. We also lost the Georgia game this year and need to move on.

Interesting take on the refs…

Guys an idiot!! The non face mask penalty that they gave them swung momentum to dawgs. We should have gotten pumped back up and that’s on us, but it still swung it to them. It’s over but he’s a fool

A no call there makes it 3rd and 8.
UGA was 8-14 on 3rd down for the game. Statistically likely that the drive would have continued even without the face mask penalty.
Hell, 3 plays later in the same drive its 3rd and 9 and they convert for 16 yards. The final play of that touchdown drive was a 3rd and 7 that goes for a TD. Defense couldn’t get off the field.
The refs made bad calls. News flash, they always do. That ain’t the reason UT lost.

I do agree. Just saying refs cause momentum swings by calls. We lost it but that’s when momentum swung imo

Was obvious upon review of the video…

This is ridiculous, dude. It was a safety that swiped early. 😉

So answer me this Batman: if an incomplete shuttle pass is not a fumble why isn't a downfield fumble not an illegal forward pass? 🤷

Powersweepvol,And Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone and fired the only shots in Dallas 61 years ago.And everyone knows that if you shoot someone from the back of the head, the back head hole will be much larger than the exit hole in the front.

I think it's rare but it happens...what's your point? Do I think officials are betting on the games they referee? Absolutely not.

I mean, lay it out for me how games get fixed. Explain this to me like I'm a 2 yr old, as Denzel said.
That's weird that you think it's so rare. If it were that rare professional athletes wouldn't be getting caught yearly. I've attached some examples that I grabbed in about 5 seconds. I'm not going to handhold you through the process. If you try to think hard enough you can probably figure it out.

When they catch refs doing it they definitely sweep it under the rug due to the ramifications. If NFL players are doing it for money with as much as they make then refs are definitely doing it do pick up money on the side seeing as they still have normal jobs.

So how many bad call are going to help Georgia pull out the win to help the national media agenda?
The national media has zero to do with Officiating or results. Too many Vol fans are that paranoid boyfriend that thinks their girlfriend is cheating or that every one is after them. Refs don't lose teams a game. Bad coaching, lackluster play, stupid, undisciplined penalties, not executing, dropped passes, missed assignments etc lose games. No 1 bad or missed call loses teams a game. Please don't turn into damn Ala fans. They are still bitching about the refs in 22 when we beat them and of course those year. Now, they are blaming refs for them losing to Purdue in men's Hoops last Fri. Don't turn into those assbags and constantly use excuses for losing games. The players and Coach's lose games, not the refs.

Get over yourself.

Every fan base complains about terrible officiating.

What makes us any different?

Stop it. The game will be decided on the field. Bad calls will happen but nobody is out to get us. It’s this type of rhetoric why many despise TN.
Thank you! I've had this same argument with numerous of our paranoid, dumbass fans. Like you said, nobody including ESPN, the media, the refs, commissioner's nor anyone else is out to get or sabotage us. It's amazing some would actually think that. Anyone with any type of intelligence could figure that out. Some just need an excuse and something to complain about. I mean, why blame the players or Coach's when you can blame the refs. It absolutely drives me nuts and makes the rest of us look bad by grouping us all together. It's exactly why we are hated as a fan base and an embarrassment to be grouped together with those idiots.

STFU..And no, not to the extreme Ala and TN fans do. ANYONE that knows football knows refs don't win or lose games. We have too many fans that know that and don't use refs as a crutch. Then dumbasses like you blame everyone else except for the ones who should catch the blame. Our fans and Ala takes it to a whole different level and makes all of us look like uneducated trailer park trash.

So, get over yourself and quit acting like an unintelligent bitch boy!
