The Officiating Thread - UGA

The only call I thought was clearly erroneous was the missed DPI on #24 for UGA early (our second or third offensive possession). That pop pass "fumble" was indeed an incomplete pass. I see different teams run that play all the time and announcers frequently point out that it is a pass and counts as passing yards. The second "fumble" by the tight end in the second half at best for us could have gone either way. We did in fact have 12 guys on the field that one time. The facemask they showed another angle slowed down a few minutes later that showed the defender's hand on the facemask. That's gonna get called every time the helmet also comes off (even though the former didn't cause the latter as the ref probably thought in real-time). Holdings and motions are missed multiple times in every game, fans tend to only see the infractions of the other team though, not there's. Alot of y'all complaining were laughing at Bama fans doing the same thing a few weeks ago after our game. It just means more.

That’s the problem I don’t care how great of guy he is former sec players calling conference games is a conflict. I realize it has went on for years, we at least need to have paid refs and oversight committee not connected with the sec office.
I just want to see the NCAA and conferences address issues, if nothing else.

How about kitselman clearly moving towards the LOS when the ball was snapped on the td? I guess you guys only notice calls that don’t go your way?

I talk CFB with lots of folks in the business world and have never once heard an opinion that games are fixed and yet you see this all over a message board like this…very strange.

But you embarrass yourself when you give that opinion…just makes you look dumb is about all I can say

I will complain about bad calls sometimes but have never thought the officials cost Tennessee a football game ................................................. until now.

Let's count 'em up >
# 2 Ga fumbles called back (obvious fumbles that would have ended scoring drives).
# several no-calls on Ga line holding our D-line (I saw a couple of strangleholds)
# clear pass interference on Ga DB on a sideline route by our receiver
# flagrant personal foul forearm shiver thrown by Ga receiver at our defender after the whistle (right in front of the linesman)
# the absolute kill-shot to our defense, the phantom facemask penalty (Ga would have been 3d & 20 on a crucial drive).
# clear-as-day motion penalty on Ga slot receiver right in front of the whole world (again could have stopped a scoring drive).
# waving off Tenn's early roughing the punter flag was the correct call for all the Ga fans making equivalency claims (Tenn punt rusher clearly pushed into Ga's kicker and barely brushed against the guy).

I'm sure I'm leaving a couple more out. Anyone else ?

Also, what ability does the head coach being screwed have to demand a play review ?
Heupel looked on the verge of a coronary a couple of times.
We don’t drop 4 passes on crucial drives and the refs probably don’t matter.

The face mask was legit. He originally grabbed the bottom of the face mask by accident and then the headlock was fine even though it caused his helmet come off.

The fumble was THE WORST CALL I’ve seen in years. Blatant cheating.

Still…our offense didn’t do enough. Heupel needs help on offense. He needs some to challenge and GROW his offensive philosophy.

UGA outcoached UT again. Need to get better staff and continue to recruit at the level we’re at now. We’re recruiting VERY well.

Tennessee managed to do what they've done for most of the year, play one half of football. You have to score points on the road. Expecting your defense to hold a UGA team to under 20 points was hoping this defense was the 85 Bears. It's not.. In fact the all world Dline hasn't look the part the last few games and that's the strength of this defense.. You'd think with all the supposed depth they'd be getting stronger as the year goes on. Not the case.

.Too much betting money. Now you have to put out an injury list. That is ONLY for the betting spread..With money flowing, you get refs hands out.
BINGO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What’s your best guess at how the scheme works? You seem to be pretty confident that it happens…well, how does it all happen, these schemes where games are fixed?

It's not my job to figure that out but I imagine an average detective could unravel it in about 30 days with access to all the information he requested.

Are you sure the SEC didn’t have something to do with it? Georgia lose they out of the playoff we still have a outside chance getting in 5 teams instead of 4.

They simply outplayed us. Beck had a game similar to Rattler in 2022. 95% of the passes he threw were spot on and in the perfect location.

Its over and we lost but did anyone else notice the two refs having a conversation with Beck and Kirby during either a time out of when they came back from a commercial? Looked like they were planning, never saw anything like it in the past.

Just coincidence. Move along. Got outcoached. Which they really did. You'd also be a fool to not think some of these calls and non calls influenced the game. Thats why they call it home cooking..
Yeah. If we run the ball more in the 2nd half, those calls/no calls don't happen
