The Ole Miss Black Bear

You implied that Farragut High School substituted Admirals for Rebels.

LOL... NO.

I was thinking about the Ole Miss change, and for some strange reason Farragut Admirals popped into my head (probably read something on Facebook)

So I thought by keeping the Ole Miss mascot and just change the name to Ole Miss Admirals.... or Generals, or Commodores (oh wait, that's taken), or etc...

:)

What I want to know is why everyone is such p*ss**s nowadays? What was wrong with what they had and the way they had it? I'm not big on the Rebel flag, but what was wrong with Colonel Reb to begin with?

I used to cheer for Ole Miss to finish second in the SEC behind UT because of what they stood for: tradition, southern pride, and gentlemanly class. I will never cheer for Ole Miss again until the day Colonel Reb walks the sidelines in Oxford again. This poor excuse for a mascot is a spit in the face of tradition and everything we as southerners stand for, all just to please the political correct pushing socialists.

I bet Pelosi did this. Damn her!

So if the German national team wanted to call themselves the blitzkreig or the storm troopers that would be okay because it is just part of their heritage?

I don't have a problem with Colonel Reb if he's just an old guy with no Confederacy flags or symbols on his suit. But with a bunch of idiots waving confederate flags, and chanting "the South shall rise again" after the playing of Dixie, it's not hard to see why people complained. Just the mascot itself doesn't seem like as big of a deal to me.

Any chance that someone finds Volunteers offensive in the future? I wouldn't think so, and it's not like it's just a Civil War thing, but sometimes I feel like people look for things to complain about.

Mexicans. I'm pretty sure they don't like being reminded who helped the Texans win independence.
