The flip side of that is that Duval made a ton of money for Nike from about 1999-2001 as he ascended to #1 in the world. As bad as Duval has played recently, he's still a lot more recognizable than 90% of the golfers on tour.

did you read the story about him in golf digest a few months back? Nike seems to have been really great with the whole deal. I suppose that there isn't much for them to do because of the contract, but they seem to be ok with him not bouncing back.

he should switch to something else.
I'm paraphrasing but Mickleson said one time Nike equipment was junk, and Tiger's one of the few players that could win with it

I've always been under the impression that tiger's nike blades are mizuno copies.

I half expected him to be wearing the oakley wraparounds this weekend.

That's what I've always heard, that the only thing Nike about his irons is the swoosh that got stamped on them.

didn't he play mizuno's for a few years even under the nike contract before he switched to the nike blades?

well if that's true, Nike's made a mint since Tiger started playing their equipment..They should share some of it with Mizuno

Watson and Azinger sound like they are suppressing the urge to lean out the tower and yell at Norman, "Hey moron! Think a little bit out there and you might actually win something!"

The course setup along with the weather is making things ridiculous. It's like a US Open setup with 35 mph wind. Anybody that gets in at +10 or better has a shot.

Norman's got his new bride close by to give him that type of advice

Seriously, he needs to bury the ego and start bunting some irons off the tees. Going +1 or +2 on the final 8 holes will likely be good enough.

. . . and Norman hits driver right down the middle of the fairway. What the heck do I know?

Furyk just got to the clubhouse at +10. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that he is going to end up in a playoff.

Can SI please take Rick Reilly back..

I really liked his coulmn every week in SI, but he's not found his stride in broadcasting

that was the most amazing shot i think i've ever seen.
I hop mother*%@#in Padraig never ever wins another tournament. He's the single slowest player to ever walk onto a golf course. He is singlehandedly making my rounds take longer with his ridiculous routine and slow putting.

I honestly think he should be fined every time he plays.

That said, he played better and smarter than Norman by light years.
