I just started playing a couple of weeks ago. I bought a Spyder VS1. It's not the best gun, but it shoots pretty accurately. When I got it, the trigger was very sensitive and I didn't realize it. I was showing my wife the gun, and I had it on 3-burst shooting it. I then went to turn it off, and I accidentally touched the trigger and I put a couple of shots into my wife's knee who was standing about 2 feet away. I haven't had the gun 2 weeks and I've already gotten in trouble with it.

The game is very addicting though. I'm going to use that gun for a couple of years or so, then I'll upgrade to something else.

i have a question my paintball gun.....is a spyder and when u put the air take on it it has the sound of leakin and i think the leakage is comiing from the silver wirring or w.e that connects the tank to the gun...what should i do

Check the o-ring around the neck of your air tank. It might need replacing.

Spyders are usually solid guns. I've heard good things about the VS1. An RS1 would be nice to own...

A buddy of mine shot himself in the foot yesterday... he was using a Spyder Pilot ACS. Coincidence?

Gearing up to play some paintball after work, today. Bunch of my friends and I are on spring break and we're expecting a huge crowd. We could be pushing 20 people playing regularly by the summer time. In other news, I got my air tank for my PMR on Thursday, it shoots like a dream. I have a feeling I'm going to have a COD4 kinda day, lots of ks. I don't have a force feed hopper yet, so I can't shoot it at its maximum potential so I've got it set for 14 bps and semi-automatic. Too bad there's not a HPA fill station near where we are playing...

Im gonna get into playin but am in need of some opinions. I have talked to the guy at the paint ball shop & he tried to put me onto a Tippmann. I told him I wasnt afraid to spend a bit of money to get a good maker that I could use for a long time & possibly upgrade later. He came back with a SmartParts Ion or Ion XE.
I had done my homework before I went & was looking at that marker but I wanted some more options & opinons other than the guy at the shop just tryin to sell a marker. So any input would be appreciated.

If you guys are interested, I played on the paintball team at UT last year and I can get you in contact with the captains.

Its very competitive though, its tournament paintball and you have to be prepared to go through 20-25 cases of 2k balls per tourney.

We lost to Penn State at Nationals last year in the Elite 8

Ion is not a bad starting gun. Now I am not advocating against buying from your local pb store, they have to make their money, but goto pbnation.com. You can get an Ion upgraded to the max for the amount you would buy a new one for.

Egos are sweet. So are DMs.

wouldnt advise buying anything on the nation. Too many pre pubescent kids with mommys credit card ripping people off.

That a Dm5?

Thanx Head1 for the info.:good!: & Im kind of with Midfielder on buying from the nation. Not so much about the kids but just in general kind of like buying from ebay. I dont want to get burned & I have before so I think Im gonna check some other PB shops. Im still open to suggestions though ppl. :) Help a brother out

I just bought a PM5 on the nation and it will arrive on Monday... I love that place! LOL. Gotta be aware of scammers, though.

I advocate against and ION, though. I hate them, they take too much money in upgrades to get to a competitive level. If you're new to PB, then get an SLG or a PMR. I have a PMR and it's very easy to maintain. Just bolt-out-back and lube. My next gun will be a Bob Long or another DM.

I had a great day of paintball today. We played about 5 games and it was 3 on 4 the entire day. Woodsball, but set up for quick action. I worked everyone the first four games and then the last game I got shot in the mask chasing after someone... that was right after I told my teammates that "I would rather get hit playing aggressively and moving towards another player than running away."

never understood what people get out of playing in the woods.

Can't afford to play at the local field... I hate playing in the woods, but it's all I have right now. :eek:k:

Many of my friends like to play scenario crap, but I don't understand it. It's too boring to sit and wait for people.

I got both of those from pbnation. I only deal with people with super high feedback and or moderators. I also never ship first unless they have alot higher feedback than I do which its been a while for me and the newer system doesnt reflect my past deals.

Do be cautious with who you deal with for sure. Like you said alot of kids who will rip you off in a second. One thing I always do is look at feedback and then check posting history to make sure those feedbacks arent bogus. Its a little harder now to do bogus feedback than it used to be but you can never be too safe. You can alos request 3rd party shipping, like a local store.

Woods can be fun if done right but to me its more of just a waste of paint. Speedball is the way to go.

What's your username on PBnation? Mine is Budda648 and I just made my first deal, it will be delivered today.

I love to play speedball, but with the price of paint at the local feild now, up over $50 for field paint plus air and entry fee, I can't afford it making minimum wage. So, I just resort to playing in the woods with my friends and making myself look good by playing aggressively and shooting the crap out of them. I don't ramp or anything, just semi capped at 13bps.

BTW, yay or nay on HK? :birgits_giggle:

I havent really played alot this year, working alot, new baby and going to school at the same time doesnt = paintball friendly.

I have a friend who plays with some of the HK fanboi teams at PSP events, but I dont really care either way. They are just another team/fanbase altho a little overboard.

There are or were a bunch of TN boys who play for Denver Altitude, so if I were to "root" for any team or group it would be them.

Yeah alot of altitude guys also play for UT. Its mostly made up of former Corrupted Kidz and Nashvillains.

I offered one of the guys $200 cash and he wouldnt blink. I am not a big smart parts person but other than the SP symbol those jerseys are the best jerseys in the sport. If you do get one dont plan on using it in any tournament because of the orange, they had to file some kind of petition to be able to wear orange.

Angels used to be the cream of the crop. I have played with an A1 some but I just cant get over the Angel bodies, I like a slimmer gun and they just feel bulky in my hand even tho the A1 is very small.

Its really all personal preference. I like Egos because they are very small and stupid simple to maintain over any other gun out there. But alot of people dont like them because they are louder and or have an external bolt. I love DMs also, maybe the best gun I have ever shot but with those you either get a good one, or a bad one and always work on it... DMs are super quiet and so smooth. But they can be a pain to tech.
