1. A gutless effort results in a loss to an atrocious team. Enjoy the trip home, Vols. You got what you deserved.
2. Allowing Rasheem Barrett to rebound the missed free throw at the end of the game defines this team. It just doesn't matter enough to them.
3. I'm pretty sure there is not a perimeter player in the country who can't get to the basket at will against Tennessee. Cam Tatum and Scotty Hopson are a Get Well card to struggling wings.
4. JP Prince manages to ruin an otherwise great performance with a mindless offensive foul. The number of awful plays this team makes is mind numbing.
5. At least now we can stop worrying about accomplishing in the regular season. With the remaining schedule, this team is out of contention.
6. That is the worst conference loss of Bruce's tenure. Totally inexcusable.
7. Great win for Cincinnati. The Bearcats are now squarely in the NCAA hunt.
8. Georgetown, on the other hand, is in trouble. Given their remaining schedule, the Hoyas are in danger of landing in the NIT.
9. The Fighting Irish are Notre Done. They aren't even an average team now.
10. People continue to overlook Villanova. That is a serious mistake.

Terrible defense, terrible rebounding and no determination today. I agree, they get what they deserve on this one.

I hate to say it, but you're spot on about this team. I was still hoping that we would run the table the rest off the way, but sometimes it seems like us fans want to win more than the team does. We should be easily 15 points better than AU, but they don't count heart into the point spread.

I was wondering where this loss ranks among those in Pearl's tenure here. I suppose it supplants getting torched by South Carolina two years ago?

Prince's foul was bad, but there were 20 other plays just as dumb.

Did any UT player actually box out a man once this game?

How about us not once helping out on Barber when we're intentionally fronting him? Tyler, Prince, nobody - not once - ever came over to stop him once the pass was lobbed to him. Do you think the coaches said anything to them about that?

it's among the 3 worst UT games I've witnessed, just behind the 70-pt drubbing UK laid on them during the Houston years.

Nothing boosts your confidence unfairly like playing poor competition.

Nothing humbles you more than getting beat by poor competition.

If Kentucky beats Florida at home on Tuesday, there will be another 4 way tie atop the East. While I don't know if Tennessee is capable of winning this league, they will finish top 4 in the conference, which should get them into the tournament.

Also, great points.

Who did Cincy beat?

And do you think we make the NIT or CBI?

Vols will still make NCAA tournament with 18 wins because of SOS and RPI. Even though the only deserving SEC team should be the Tourney Champ this year, the NCAA cannot give mighty SEC only 1 or 2 bids. Vols are safe.

The talking heads are calling 3 teams from the SEC.

To anyone: who's dumber, the player who inbounded the ball to J.P. or J.P. for even thinking he was going to hit the game winning jumper?
