The Pembroke Postgame Report: Nothing But Pride Edition.

If you think DD was a good hire then you sir could not have picked a better name for this site. Idiotman.

I would have preferred someone like Schiano over Dooley. That being said, Dooley is the leader that we have for some period of time

I don't know about you, but I would feel much more comfortable with Kiffin at the helm than the joke that we have right now.

I would too, but he's not here, and there's nothing we could have done to keep him. I moved on from Kiffin the night he left.

Empirical evidence exists that says forming an early opinion is sensible.

Yes. I wouldn't have been nearly as critical of this hire if Dooley had proven he could win consistently where he was.

Why oh why did this have to turn into a football thread? I'm with Hat. We come to this forum to stay away from all the football talk. Please...keep it in the football forum.

Ask the Dooley fans who came on here. This is the BASKETBALL forum. To the football posters, take the football commentary to the FOOTBALL forum, please and thank you.

well by that argument, you're leaving out
17 points against KU, 17 points in a game against Bama that was a 7 point game, 14 points against Vandy, a 20 point game against UF, 15 points in the win over UK, and 14 against Miss St....among some others

1. KU 2. UF (he came off the bench and scored 20 and we lost) 3. UK

sorry if i'm not excited over 17 points versus bama or 14 versus vandy (in a loss) or miss state.

among some others LOL. u only prove my point.

Great season vols, it is one I will remember for a long time and one that will be talked about in the future.

my point was he performed during the season and we needed him to.

Yes he was horrendous during the tournament and probably did need to be benched at some point; if you were saying that I'd have agreed with you. But that's not what you're saying, your saying the team is inifinitely better if he leaves and goes somewhere else - which his stats in season would suggest otherwise.

Putting up points btw is production and production is still putting up points. A player putting up double digit points, whether it is in a win or a loss, is still a good performance because they scored double digit points. If it's 17 points in a close game that a team just scraped past against an inferior opponent like bama, guess what? The team still needed for him to make those points to win, and he did (without his 17 we lose to KU, without his points against bama - if you look at the margin - we lose, without his 15 against UK we lose; there's a few more games that went that way too)

I didn't prove your point; you said that he performed poorly all the time unless he was playing college of charleston and have said he needed to be gone/transferred/kicked off the team

I say he was productive in the season and we wouldnt have gotten to the spot we were at at the beginning of the tournament without him. He was important. Yes he fell apart mid march, but he was important and productive during the season to even get us to march

...only cuz 4 players were suspended. no one gets suspended... his isn't a factor.

what we need is a player in his place who can be a solid, clutch go to guy. if we can't get that out of his position then we just need someone who can catch the ball, dribble the ball, and hussle.

I have no doubt the OP along with his loyal band of laughable followers will be on board with the football team's success just like they are currently riding the BBall Vols success.

Their criticism of JP Prince and Coach Pearl almost mirror the criticism being dealt to the football coach. It's very predictable.

A reconciliation to the basketball team and coach has been attempted, and I expect a similar outcome for our football coach in the future as well.

Go Vols, and Expect to Win!

Where's the SEC title Fulmer was going to win after 2005? How did the one game Prince played at point guard in his time in Knoxville turn out?

How'd that "John Calipari wouldn't win big in a league like the SEC" thing treat you this year?

Is this reconciliation going to anything like the one you swore I'd have to have with Fulmer when he returned to glory? I'm still waiting on that one.

Just as it is easy to predict it'll take you 3-5 years longer than sane people to figure out Dooley sucks, just like it did with your hero Prince Phillip.

Wow, IE just got owned (not like that's hard to do though). I normally don't like people quoting members of my ignore list, but this is entertaining.

Bowl wins a @ Latech aren't far off a UWM sweet16. albeit in 08.

The equivalent for me would be an 11 win season. However, Dooley's best season was 8-5, and his team regressed 4 wins in his last season.
