If thats why he sat then fine, but why didn't he touch the floor against LSU?
I'm going to assume he's done nothing in practice to earn playing time. The simplest explanation is usually the right one.

1. That's a sound, workmanlike win. Tennessee avoided being draw into Auburn's muck.
2. Brian Williams did exactly what he should have against a team with no discernable inside game. You've got to dominate when you can.
3. Cameron Tatum is showing signs of getting back on track. That certainly makes UT's offense much better.
4. Tobias Harris showed some guts. That was a solid performance on a lame wheel.
5. There's no excuse for a school in a BCS league to field a team as bad as Auburn is putting on the floor right now. Hell, there's no reason for an OVC team to be that awful.
6. Josh Langford is going to be a very good SEC player. That's about all the hope for that roster.
7. Mark Gottfried's enfatuation with Steve Pearl and Skylar McBee is beginning to become disconcerting. If he thinks they are that great, it certainly explains why Alabama fell off the cliff with him in charge.
8. How in the world does a Big East team in Chicago end up as bad as DePaul? Mark Aguirre has to be sick.
9. Rece Davis needs to stay in the studio. He's just not a play by play guy.
10. Saturday will determine whether or not the Tony Jones Era is a success. 6-2 would be good, 5-3 average.

No love for Gabriel or a healthy Sullivan?

I guess. Who do you see us starting at the 4 and 5 next year if Tobias is gone? I just think Kenny is are only option next year and we should find a way to play him in garbage time.

Put it this way: Skylar McBee was cold as a Dallas thundersnow from 3 tonight, and he STILL looked halfway like a 2nd-team all-SEC player.

THAT should tell you how much love Auburn's roster deserves.

Alabama is playing great defensively. I just don't see how we generate enough offense to beat them.......sans Scotty.

If they can find a way to stop Green they should be fine. Alabama has been playing some excellent defense and playing a very slow pace, though.

Any reason you specified he was cold tonight?

After 10 minutes, I told my wife that was the worst SEC team I have ever seen. I did not see anything else to make me change my mind.

Goins, Williams, and Tatum got 6- 10 games or something? I think tweeting at half time should be a half.

It's just about a setting a precedent that that kind of garbage does not go on. It's not as bad as possessing weapons in a car obviously, and I'm not saying it is. I think it sends a message that dicking off isn't going to be tolerated. Imagine tweeting at halftime if you played for Frank Martin, Huggins, Calhoun, K, or some of those guys.

According to his twitter he said he didn't even do it. To be honest, with the way the media is going it isn't technically that far from giving a half time interview if he is tweeting about the game.

His family would probably be making funeral arrangements.

Does anybody have an update in regards to what post players we are recruiting next year? Didn't realize the amount of players we may lose next year if both Scotty and Tobias go pro. We would lose the top 6 out of 8 guys in our rotation (not counting McBee).

Also, Kenny Hall does need to see the floor. Nothing suggested he shouldn't be playing against AU and Ole Miss. He came on and played extremely hard with the oppurtunity he was given in those games. He is a talented guy and is not getting a fair shake this year. McBee needs to be benched, I don't think Jones has been pleased with his recent performance. It's not just one game it's a few, although I think Pearl is playing very well.
THIS!! I am astounded that we didn't put some fresh "Bigs" in and pummel AU. I don't understand risking further damage to Tobias's ankle either. We need some of our bigs to get gametime minutes and if there is going to be many more chances better than this one, I will be surprised. Hall should have been in more and I would have given Big "M" some minutes with the expressed instruction to show me how physical he could be. Maybe I'm missing something. I don't claim to know more than the coach. I'm simply comfused. It MUST be demoralizing for Hall.

I don't know why you compare Bruce to those guys. Everyone has their own coaching philosophy and ways to deal with these issues. Being lenient didn't hurt Urban too much, huh?

When the coaches are giving interviews DURING the game, the precedent IS set....not pointed at anybody, your post just brought my astonishment back to my frontal lobe. WOW, huh? I realize that espn must demand it, but couldn't they just refuse or would that get Slimes panties in a wad?

Brian Williams said last week Hall has been busting his butt at practice and said "Hall will be a star here before he's done." It doesn't have anything to do with his lack of effort at practice. He also came off a serious ankle injury at the start of the season and looked a step slower. After watching him have two nice post moves in the LSU game, in which he score 4 points in a 90 second span he is definitely healthy again. I honestly think he can contribute just as well as John Fields and they should split time.

Hall is a top 30 recruit, the guy did not come to Tennessee to sit on the bench and we shouldn't be wasting his talent either, especially when we will be relying on it the next two years.

He was a top 80 recruit, but none the less he should get garbage time at the least.

I'm not comparing Bruce to anyone. I was simply saying what I would like to see done.

With whomever their coach suspended back in the lineup, are they still this bad?

Also, considering how much you love AU, where does beating them in basketball rank among college basketball wins for you? Is it as satisfying as it is in football?

That was Rob Chubb. And he was on the cover of the program tonight. :good!:

It's a nice new arena they have there. Not a lot of bells & whistles, but all the seats are cushioned and it's easy to get in and out of. It seats a little over 9k, the boxscore said 6k in attendance, but I'd say there were under 4k in the seats. The students have great seats right on the court, but it was very quiet. It's probably the least imposing gym in the SEC.

Nice win. I was surprised with how poorly Auburn played tonight. Bring on Bama.

8. How in the world does a Big East team in Chicago end up as bad as DePaul?

This is mind boggling. That area certainly has talent. I can't believe how bad they are. Depaul should easily have as much talent as ND.

hat,

On a side note have your feelings changed at all about Mike Brey?

Brian Williams is turning into a "Bad Man". I'll keep my fingers crossed.

That is the first time I've seen a Tony Barbee team play but I really liked their offense. I've seen the Celtics and Duke among others use the "A-Set" offense and Auburn also used a flex action after the initial entry at times.

Don't know if he can recruit and build that mess but I liked what they were trying to do.

This team is bad from 3pt range. We haven't even been a decent 3 pt team since Lofton and Smith left. What's up with that?
