I would say grabbing the rim on a layup and not having goaltending called is about as "egregious" as it gets. Even Dykes said we got 2 stolen from us.

The ball has to be in the cylinder or off the backboard on its way to the rim for that to be goaltending. That ball was not even in the zip code of the rim. No way we deserved a goaltending call there.
absurd. That was basket interference, period. You can't touch the rim with a ball on the board. His moving the rim changed the trajectory of the ball off the glass. If that were legal, people would always slap the board when the ball hit it.
That was my point. From my recollection, the ball was not on the board. As ugly as it was to watch, my memory might be a little distorted. I just remember the shot being nowhere close to the rim and not on the backboard.
Not his season high. 5 double/doubles. Williams and Fields have a combined 1 double/double. You guys are butt hurt over getting dominated down low by a guy like Josh, and I don't blame you. However, he's a better player than you give him credit for.
He had nine rebounds tonight. Our second leading rebounder was Melvin Goins. You know, the point guard. With five.
Brian didn't play his best game tonight, and I certainly make the same criticisms for him not going up hard at the rim. But of all our inside guys tonight, he was not the problem. He had more rebounds than Fields, Pearl, and Harris combined. Actually, Melvin Goins had as many rebounds as Fields, Pearl, and Harris combined.
1. That's a thoroughly underwhelming effort in a big game. There's no excuse for a lack of energy playing that opponent.
2. Tennessee certainly didn't appear to get any lift from Bruce Pearl's return. They better find some answers by Saturday.
3. Scotty Hopson showed some fight tonight. He was certainly better than most of his teammates.
4. Tobias Harris played as poorly as he has all season. The game was just plain too big for him tonight.
5. ESPN has gone around the bend in their coverage of the Heat. I'm pretty sure we can survive without pass by pass updates on the Bottom Line.
6. There's no excuse for a guy as limited as Josh Harrellson coming from 20 feet out to get an offensive rebound. That's just ridiculous.
7. It's a good thing Darius Miller didn't shoot it as he normally does against Tennessee. Had he done that, the margin would have been around 30.
8. DeAndre Liggins is the most underrated player in the SEC. He's going to make a very nice living playing professionally.
9. Josh Bone took advantage of his minutes. Here's hoping he gets more.
10. John Calipari's NBA experience showed through tonight. UK didn't guard Tennessee's offensive stiffs and that put them in position to strangle off UT's attack.
Really dumb move for Bruce considering he brought all of this on himself.
Erroneous. your memory has done you wrong. It was on the back board or close to hitting it when he nailed the rim. It was a basket interference no question. I really dont understand how three refs missed that call. The ball has to be in the cylinder or off the backboard on its way to the rim for that to be goaltending. That ball was not even in the zip code of the rim. No way we deserved a goaltending call there.
Decided not to make a new thread, just thought the irony was rich.
A Kentucky fan yelled "Welcome back" as Pearl headed to the locker room following warm-ups. But not all proved as welcoming. A small group of blue-clad fans directly behind the Tennessee bench shouted things like "cheater," "liar" and other unprintable words at Pearl (which, given Kentucky's own spotty NCAA history, seemed a little ironic). At halftime, Pearl asked arena security to do something about the fans.
"It was just the language; my family is back there," Pearl said. "They can say whatever they want." - Brian Bennett
Bruce, I've heard you on the bench. Don't play that game. That's ridiculous.
We have agreed before about Liggins, worth saying again. He is worthy of 15mpg in the league as a role player.
Harrellson works as hard as he possibly can pretty much every game and every possession. He is never the most talented on the floor, but if teams bigs do not match his intensity he will continue to do that to opponents and lead the SEC in boards.
I seen little to no fire or effort from UT tonight in this game. It was as if they knew the outcome when they stepped off the bus. I'm not convinced Bruces return wasn't more of a hinderance than help.
