1. Losing some games on the road is inevitable. Quitting, however, is 100% unacceptable.
2. Scotty Hopson finally made a few shots. That's the extent of any positive news out of this game
3. Wayne Chism played as poor a mental game as is possible. It's unconscionable for a senior to be that lacking in focus.
4. Bobby Maze and Melvin Goins got annihilated. Erving Walker and Kenny Boynton abused them at pretty much every turn.
5. The entire Tennessee frontline should be ashamed. They made Alex Tyus and Chandler Parsons look like Maurice Lucas and Dennis Rodman on the boards.
6. This team's offensive limitations were on full display tonight. It takes flukes like Renaldo Woolridge hitting multiple threes for this team to get to 70 against a quality opponent.
7. Saturday afternoon will be a real litmus test. We'll find out a great deal about this team's mental fortitude after this beating.
8. UT blew a real opportunity tonight. Forcing Florida into their third straight NIT would have helped keep a major competitor down.
9. Maybe Bruce can simply wear a wife beater and a Fonzi style leather jacket Saturday. Couldn't be any worse than tonight's attire.
10. Good win for Georgetown tonight. The UCONN-Louisville loser this weekend is going to have a nervous Selection Sunday.

That, as a UT fan, is extremely hard to take. Pearl has his limitations as a coach, but I've never thought that he would ever put a team on the court that flat out quits like this team does. Makes you wonder why the hell half this team is still able to use the facilites.

I agree, there's simply no excuse for quitting. To put it lightly, that was embarrassing.

I really don't know that they quit so much as certain players try to do too much when the game starts to slip. Usually this turns into terrible shot selection, zero offensive sets, and runouts by the opposing team. I think this is why we see teams pull out to ridiculous leads on us in a hurry.

This. Tonights game was just abysmal in pretty much every way

Do you wear your pimpin Vol hat for away games?

And I agree with what you wrote.

Sooner or later the Gators were gonna get us. We have been living off the Bruce 8-1 over Billy but there is enough talent to say a split this season was about as good as could be expected.

Did you see what Maze did right before the midget hit his 2nd or 3rd three in a row? He had time to stare at the rim literally for 3 seconds, decide he didn't want to shoot it from that far out, take a dribble and a step closer, line up his shot and let it ride. All this happening with no defender within 10 feet of him.

The amazing part though, Maze was doing exactly what I was sitting on my couch doing.

What's it matter? Thank God we're in the SEC. We'd be battling for .500 in the Big East.

Our team has no composure whatsoever on opponent's home floor's. That's a great recipe for a neutral game in the tourney's.

No, I had to listen to the game on the radio. I guess I'm just saying that I think the bad decisions and inefficiency on the offensive end often leads to these breakdowns.

I believe we wouldnt be close to .500 in Big East. Its a brutal ride over there. we would be about 9-12 range. I even feel kentucky would be fighting for 3-5 range if they were in big east

We don't have breakdowns, We just flat out have mental illnesses. Simple things like waiting to jump for a rebound until you know which side of the rim it's going to come off of is an example.

I'm not sure what you mean. We've got blown out on the road multiple times before and then have good games at home. That's the way it goes for a mediocre team with a decent home court advantage.

Oh; so that’s the problem.

I know you feel enlightened now.

As for the game, Hat summed it up well. The UT backcourt was abused, and the frontcourt didn't fare much better. Parsons nor Tyus should never be allowed to do what they did tonight. After the first half, I thought Pearl might make a few adjustments in the defensive game (or at least the effort), but it never happened.

That was a huge loss for UT, and a huge win for UF.

damn it.
