I don't know about #9. We will have our hands full with MI St. But that matchup suits our slower tempo of game this year.

11.The Timeout (be it a TV) and following adjustments to the wide-as-**** 1-3-1 is indisputable evidence that BP is fully capable of seeing the issue, gathering the troops, and adjusting accordingly. A+ Gameplan and preparation.

Hat, you've given great reports all season. It is something I look forward to and it is appreciated. By the way, how's that opinion on Pearl tracking right now?
I still don't expect he and I to be hanging out at Rooster's anytime soon. If I wanted to be cynical, I'd say this run only occurred after his preferred style of play was taken away from him by attrition and misfit personnel. Instead, I'll say I've been really impressed with his ability to adjust and win games 47 feet at a time.

Agreed, this was a team that knew what they were going to see and knew how to attack it...props to Pearl and staff.

Don't forget about Prince. The way he's stepped up lately is just legendary.

3 HUGE defensive stops by himself. The steal coming through the screen, the "wolf" steal in transition, then the block w/o body contact. JP is Priceless. Pulling Evan Turnover on top of him made me scratch my head a bit, but give me the productive minutes with a couple bonehead moves all day.

Hat I give you a ton of credit for #10. Its no secret how you feel about Pearl. Great way to lay it out.

What does he know?

Digger said earlier in the day that UT didn't have a bench either when Davis mentioned it would be an advantage for us...I seriously wonder if they even watch the games.

Is he that senile? OSU is the one with no bench.

I have a feeling that we won't be seeing that style anymore.

I'm hopeful that he's smart enough to realize that this style of play is a direction he needs to go. I don't think the press is necessarily bad, but the results speak for themselves this year. Also, the success will continue to bring in more talent, which is the main factor in our success or failure.

With Lucas, they are better than Tennessee. Without him, they'll have huge problems scoring against the Vols.

Hat- do you feel that a matchup against MI St. benefits that Vols? Do you feel our halfcourt offense will be able to produce against them? (Given it is not our nature to be a halfcourt team?)

Simmons for OSU played 14 minutes in the first half and had 9 points....He ended the game with 9 points in 14 minutes.....Madsen played 7 minutes in the second half after getting 4 in the first half....

Buford, Turner and Diebler played all 40 minutes....

Tennessee wore them down....Who else has 10 guys that they can go to left in the tourney ???

Chism plays 35 minutes and gets only one foul....The Vols hit 12 of 15 free throws...

Tennessee outrebounded OSU 36-23..They had 18 offensive rebounds...HUSTLE right there....

This. I said the January incident would be his crutch for a season that would be rather mediocre. I eat my crow. Dude took what he got handed and worked it as well as he could.

UT radio announcers named Prince and Chism the co-players of game. Was so glad when Wayne got that determined look in his eye. Said he adjusted his shot and got it up higher. This team has really stayed together and seniors have kept their focus. Great recovery after KY game.

that is the remarkable thing in my eyes. last year we looked completely lost on both ends of the court and it has changed dramatically for the better this year.

They wouldn't have been up 7 or w/e without starting 90% from the field, Pearl intentionally let them set up that zone to see what was up. Then adjusted at the first dead ball and it presented few problems after that. LOL @ Thad trying to go back to it inside of 3 min. Like we would panic or something. The seniors and Bwill stepped up big.

1. It wouldn't have been right for this team to make history easily. That was a tremendous NCAA Tournament game.
2. Wayne Chism will play yet another game. That's an outstanding thing.
3. Without Brian Williams, Tennessee doesn't play Sunday. The tip on one end, followed by altering Evan Turner's shot on the other, carried the day.
4. Bobby Maze did exactly what a senior point guard has to do in March. It gets no more clutch than those two free throws.
5. Melvin Goins' pressure of Turner was key to wearing him down. It was like body shots in boxing.
6. Scotty Hopson's flurry after the awful charge call on him was great to see. Most of the night he was the 10th best player on the floor.
7. Taking a 10 second call at the end of a game is inexcusable. It would have been atrocious if that had cost UT a spot in the regional final Sunday.
8. Cam Tatum is finally becoming the player a number of us thought he could be. He kept the Vols breathing in the first half.
9. No excuses for failing to reach Indianapolis now. Tennessee is simply better than either possible Sunday opponent.
10. The fact I think there are a number of coaches who could get Tennessee to an Elite Eight is no longer relevant. The guy coaching here now has and he deserves all the kudos that come with that.

Agreed on all counts. If somebody had told me that Tennessee would be a game against an inferior opponent away from the Final Four a few months ago, I would have told him that he was mad

I'm not sure just how inferior a Tom Izzo coached team in March is, that being said I hope we kick their tails all over the court.

GO VOLS !!!

All our guys played lights out for the most part. I am so hyped, I feel like I did when we won the national championship in football.
