unless selby has the attention span of a small terrier, then no most likely one game won't effect recruiting him all that much

I was thinking it might let him know that he can win at Tennessee. I'm sure negative recruting has told him that Tennessee is never better than a sweet 16 team.

Does anyone on this site believe that we are here if the January "incident" didn't happen? I think our team became better and our coach became better. Amazing.

Agreed. Somewhere far, far away, Tyler Smith is riding camels and banging bearded women.

Thanks Tyler. :hi:

Pearl just said on his radio show that he chewed them out at halftime. Thought their defense wasn't very good. Said he really challenged them.

I was getting ready to post the same. We came together as a team. Before then, we just didn't seem to have the spark. Our bench also is now better by far than it would have been.

that's a possibility, but the main swaying agents towards him have been more of 1) getting a future Nike contract and 2) his mother not liking Tennessee for him

It has not changed that Pearl will be here for a few more years; should he choose. The difference tonight is that he has earned it.

With the happenings to our Football program, this FEELS GOOD!

Thank you to Coach Pearl and the BasketVols. :hi:

Since New Year's Day the Vols are 18-6...Beat the #1 and #2 ranked team in the nation and just beat another top 10 team tonight on a neutral court....

That incident galvanized this team, no doubt, but I sure do wish people would let it die.....

I don't know if it galvanized the team as much as it forced Pearl to shelve his preferred style and coach a half-court game. The results speak for themselves. He sure doesn't look like the same coach who let his guys aimlessly heave up 33 three-pointers against a much smaller Oklahoma State team last year.

Outstanding freaking win. I have broken out the high-end whiskey tonight.

Coach Pearl is the greatest motivator ever, sometimes he may let things get to sloppy, but he has always let his players play and tonight he was rewarded. What a total team effort.

7. Taking a 10 second call at the end of a game is inexcusable. It would have been atrocious if that had cost UT a spot in the regional final Sunday.

No other mention of Prince in your report? I know this was a bonehead play, but my god the kid played an incredible game tonight.

That sucks. Adidas needs to get us a World Wide Wes.

Well no, we'd need for Adidas to become as big a deal shoe and endorsement wise to the NBA as Nike is....and it feels there's a pretty sizable difference

that or we change our university's deal to nike

Hat, great analysis as always. but the 'offering of your sword' to the Pearl camp was groundbreaking.
