The Perfect Sorm: Coming 2012

Not that I have to justify myself to you, but you can note that in this very thread I said that Deron Williams is an elite pg and top 3 in the league. Hat says he's not elite. That's truly shocking.

A disagreement with hat? How dare you be so bold?

I couldn't find anything directly on Reynolds. Do you consider him to be a great pro prospect?

No, I don't consider him a great pro prospect. And I actually think he is overrated as a college player.

The linked post said this:

I live in the DC area, where the Reynolds bandwagon is near capacity. I am not on it. If this team has looked like an NCAA championship team at some point this year, it was in one of the games I missed.

Co-sign diversity is an underrated skill.

Haha. No, that was my point the entire time that there is a distinct difference between a Hansborough and Reynolds, as compared with Durant, Beasley, Evans, Wall, etc.

I think that stands, and I could care less who agrees with that.

There is a difference between the two. No question. Do you agree, though, that there are players who do not belong in the latter group, but who are nonetheless elite/great/theverybest/game-changing players at the college level?

Ty Lawson is a good example.

Absolutely. My argument was just that "elite", my definition that is, includes guys that can become stars at the next level. But there are tons of examples of great college players that don't rise to that level, and Ty Lawson is a great example. I'd even venture to say that Lofton falls into that category as well, even though he had much less pro potential than Lawson or Scotty Reynolds.
