The Playoff Thread

Thought a playoff thread would be a good idea to have. It may be a bad idea and never get a reply, but thought I would put it out there.

First game of the Playoffs take place tonight between Colorado and San Diego in a winner-take-all game. Game starts at 7:37 EST.

In the National League, Chicago takes on Arizona Wednesday along with Philly playing the winner of Colorado/San Diego on Wednesday as well.

In the American League, the Angels take on Boston Wednesday and New York takes on Cleveland Thursday.

if it makes you feel any better, I somewhat enjoyed Fever Pitch...that's saying a lot after having to watch Drew Barrymore ugly up the screen for a couple of hours.

What is it about managing the Cubs that makes you forget how to manage? Should have stuck with Zambrano.

Z was on 3 days rest and Marmol has been solid all year. It just backfired. I've seen Z be cruising along and slip on one bad inning because of fatigue and implode.

It isn't the worst thing in the world. I think Lilly is like 10-2/9-2/9-3/10-3 when pitching after a loss this year.

I wasn't aware he was already on three days rest that makes the decision even worse.

Yeah, good call. The ace is on 3 days rest, he is known to implode in any given late inning, we only pitch 3 pitchers during the playoffs(Z, Lilly, Hill) most likely, and the relief pitcher that was brought in has been very solid. Yeah, horrible choice to pull him. Had Lou held him in for another inning and he not only lost it, but also made him too tired to make his next scheduled start(if necessary), then Lou would look like a bumbling idiot as well.
