Why under-19?

An 18 year old is a legal adult. They should be able to elect any procedure they can source.

And transgender individuals certainly exist.

But what would you say to others that question if LGB should be conflated with T?

T seems to have a fundamentally different position than LGB.

Obviously the community will choose how they are defined, but it seems LGB has been taking incremental strays being associated with T.

Why under-19?

I am sympathetic to this, but a lot of states do not allow 18 year olds to drink.

So the question is too young to buy a bourbon on the rocks, but old enough to make a permanent decision like cutting off one' dick?

What bothers me is the crazy amount of attention that’s been brought to this issue and the other non heterosexual issues. I’m in the “ none of my business what 2 consenting adults do in the bedroom” camp. But there are a lot of minors who are publicly parroting these behaviors not because they are truly non heterosexual but as a form of rebellion or as attention grabbing and the adults are making special concessions to enable the behaviors.

I’m in the “ none of my business what 2 consenting adults do in the bedroom” camp. But there are a lot of minors who are publicly parroting these behaviors not because they are truly non heterosexual but as a form of rebellion or as attention grabbing and the adults are making special concessions to enable the behaviors.

Absolutely agree. There’s numerous young women who identify as “trans” or “non binary” yet dress feminine and only date men.

They’re doing it for social capital.

You're not wrong, but like any fad it will fade. We're still talking a whopping 0.6% of the population. It doesn't mean they should be erased, though. And i have to say the whole child mutilation thing is attention grabbing histrionics. Surgeries on minors is exceedingly rare, and even in those examples we're talking teens. I'm against them, but I wish we could all tell the truth. Puberty blockers is a different topic, and I think we don't know what type of long-term effects they could have. They're reversible, but are there residual impacts? Not sure.
