The Proof Is In How They Vote

Perhaps caps shouldn't even be necessary?

Cost of Insulin by Country
The study revealed that the manufacturer price for any given type of insulin averaged five to ten times higher in the U.S. ($98.70 USD) than in all other OECD countries ($8.81 on average). Even when using net prices, which incorporate possible rebates, U.S. prices would be roughly four times higher than in other countries.

The proof of not in how they vote. People vote along partisan lines against their interests all the time.

Just please stop. You have no clue what you are talking about. Eating meat, saturated fat and eliminating most carbs isn’t a fad diet. It’s more of the human diet. You think reducing sodium helps blood pressure? Yet again you show you have no clue. You are regurgitation falsehoods that have been pushed for decades. It’s people who think like you that have contributed to the decline in health.
holy Jesus, we're on the same side

Whatever party you favor, rather than attacking each other, look at how they vote as opposed to being just sheeple or unthinking party automatons. Which is why I'm an independent voter. I'll start it off. If you or a family member has diabetes and require insulin injections, look to see if your elected Congressman/woman cares if you live or die.

House votes to cap cost of insulin at $35, heads to Senate
Experts say it only costs drug companies $10 to manufacture.

"Congress could soon send to the president's desk a bill that would cap the cost of the lifesaving drug insulin at $35 per month -- a move that could significantly reduce and rein in out-of-pocket drug costs for millions of Americans with diabetes. The House approved the bill Thursday by a vote of 232-193, with 12 Republicans joining all Democrats in support."

Duh! This is what they do in socialist/communist countries until they run out of other peoples money.

Well, remember your disdain if/when someone you love dies on account big pharma prices the $10 to make insulin out of reach of affordability. Meanwhile, bless you, child.

Same source as your original post. Only caps cost for insured. Does not cover uninsured. Now I wouldn’t say this is why GOP voted no. But this was a Bill for headlines. Does not solve a cost problem for all Diebetics. And will most likely raise costs on uninsured.

House passes $35-a-month insulin cap as Dems seek wider bill

That's not the issue. The issue was to encourage people to track how their elected officials vote so they can see how much those people really show their concern or lack thereof for the constituents. Try this instead. Congressional Votes Database - GovTrack.us

Everybody in my family is gainfully employed with health insurance and is capable of taking care of themselves without gubmint assistance neither of which need your blessings.

Or maybe it’s not the government’s role

No. We have enough fad diets. Most things are useful in moderation. Plus, it’s not a problem of “push”ing anything, it’s a societal issue. You can tell a hypertensive patient all day how it benefits them to reduce the sodium in their diet, but if they want to go home and consume 90% frozen TV dinners then you can’t stop them.
You mean people are responsible for their own lives? 😳😳😳

There will always be people who insist on the worse, so I'm not surprised to be attacked for this. But it is OK, it's the human way, at least in human history. Meanwhile, for those who wish to keep track of how their elected officials vote on issues, here's a link. Again, political party notwithstanding, Congressional Votes Database - GovTrack.us

Those who just want to just denigrate, continue to do so, it certainly isn't in my or anyone else's power to stop from doing so. Besides, we can't all be expected to think the same way. Alternatively, if my posts tick you off, put me on IGNOREt. I'd understand, sometimes I annoy myself.
You don’t tick anyone off. You are just sad and wrong a lot and ramble about the clouds

But you can tell the forgotten and ignored homeless veterans, especially the combat injured and elderly ones, they don't deserve such help. Proudly brag to them how well off you are. Bless you, child.

Price controls are never the answer.

Until we address the elephant in the room, the American healthcare system and by extension government/private insurance healthcare spending, won't fundamentally improve. I was in the pharmacy aisle few days ago and overheard a couple ladies picking up their insulin. I am sure they and their families would approve of this new price control legislation. Just conveniently ignore that they were conservatively tipping the scales at tree fiddy.

There is a simpler solution to address diabetes in this country that doesn't cost near the amount of money and doesn't involve price controls.

We got people here who either who lack reading comprehension. In reality, it's more like a planned tactic to detour what is actually said into areas irrelevant to the topic so as to distract from it. But that's OK, it's what one must expect these days on any venue.

Maybe if you post the same BS paragraph 20 more times, the board will be too cluttered to read your drivel

No you wanted to make a political point. If not you wouldn't have posted

look to see if your elected Congressman/woman cares if you live or die.

Here's a tip - none of them care as long as they get elected

Politicians are very unwilling to do the right thing if someone on the other side of the aisle thought it up. They are more worried about opposing the other side than getting sh!t done. Republican - Democrat who gives a rat's behind? No difference.
That's why people who are willing to cross the isle should be respected instead of vilified by their own party.
The whole Rino (and the democratic equivalent) nonsense highlights the problem perfectly.

Learn to read. My opening statement was as follows:
Whatever party you favor, rather than attacking each other, look at how they vote as opposed to being just sheeple or unthinking party automatons. Which is why I'm an independent voter. I'll start it off. If you or a family member has diabetes and require insulin injections, look to see if your elected Congressman/woman cares if you live or die.

I believe I've said as much more than once in various posts in politics forum. But nevermind, like certain others, you prefer a detouring false narrative. Proceed as usual, I decline to join you in your endeavor.
