The Real Cunzo Martin Just Stood Up

You and the few worshipers are content to live with mediocre basketball as long as ccm is courtside licking his fingers while the rest want him to earn his money. We both know where you are coming from.

Can you find a post from someone that says they're content with annual NIT trips?

Yes it is true. I have seen posters tonight I've either never seen in the BB forum, or not for the past few weeks. Would you like examples?

I'm sure there are a few that post in the BB forum only after a loss, but for the most part the same group is here win or lose.

I am here win or lose but don't post much until it just has to come out. UT BB fed me through the mid 70's when football was Bill Battle. We had Ray Mears who I was fortunate enough to get to know later when he retired and came home. So, what we are seeing now makes me sad. I coached many youth league teams and even my worst team got better as the season progressed and we also won a game in our tournament. These girls started playing with heart and giving it their all and good things happened. The passion was there from the coaches to the players and parents. I don't see the leadership from the bench at TN at this point. Coach Mears even taught me a few ways to get a team fired up and I did get a technical or two. I also learned about strategic uses of timeouts. This coaching staff bewilders me. I am stumped on how to fix the problem knowing we probably can't fire and hire a new one at this point. I am hoping some of the players just step up and take over and play basketball the way we think they can and win in spite of the coaching. Thanks for letting me vent, it does help.

I didn't watch the game. Sounds like some of the old habits of missing easy layups and bad free throw shooting showed up again. It's a helter skelter basketball team. Oh well. This team is piling up bad losses. The selection committee doesn't look favorably upon bad losses..

I'll give you the Maymon part but we had THREE timeouts left and he didn't call a timeout to set up a play. He just let McRae dribble down the court and throw up a prayer.

That is the mark of a clueless coach.

This really bothers me too. Call a time out and draw up a freaking play!

I can understand not calling the timeout to set up a play at the end of the game. Pearl has done that in the past. OSU game in the sweet 16 comes to mind. Players know who the ball is suppose to go to take the last shot.

But not calling the timeout when McRae was trapped in the corner when A&M had to foul was stupid. Every coach in the country good or bad calls that timeout. EVERY SINGLE ONE!!!! He calls that TO and we win the game. Plain and simple.

I'm amazed at all the posers, I mean posters, that come on here after a loss, but stay away after big wins. Wow.

I am certain there are far far more people on the basketball forums after this type of loss then there would be if we won at UK next week.

I'm not a CCM apologist, and he has got to pick it up, but after every loss this year, fans have been trying to jump off the deep end and it gets ridiculous.

Were have been an inconsistent team since he has been here. We lost to Austin Peay at home and then beat Kentucky by 30 the same year. We go down to Florida and win then lose to Ole Miss at home. It drives fans crazy and the reason is he never plays the percentages in close games. We lose a lot of close games in the last five minutes.

Another great post worthy of a "like". Making average teams better is the characteristic of good coaching...Martin did a credible job in his first year considering it was not his team...clearly this is HIS team and they have not progressed...I am not for retaining the services a coach simply because we feel the need to make some sort of "social statement"...we've already done that...we need NCAA tourneys again.

He's not even the 2nd worst coach in the last 15 years.

Well if you are just looking at the last 15 years then you need look no further than the bozo who now occupies the home coaching box at TBA...Buzz would coach circles around him...and I thought Buzz was dumber than a box of rocks.

Your ignorance is not worthy of such a prolific name. Good God that was the dumbest post I've ever read.

In his last three games, Awesome Coach Buzz Peterson has lost to Towson, Northeastern, and James Madison.

His CAA team is 6-12.

2013

Why did we ever let him go?

Dumber than the one comparing Bruce pearls situation to child murder?

It was called hyperbole. Learn some rhetoric and then get back to me. And you're the one that doesn't care about authority, so it is completely relevant. To paraphrase Sam Jackson in "Coach Carter", if you can't uphold the simple rules of basketball, how long before you're out there breaking laws.
