Buzz and jerry green are both worse than Cuonzo

Based on? If it's game planning, making adjustments, or motivation, then CM is on par with this group. And that's not a good thing.

Green somehow got to the tourney, and Buzz recruited Chris Lofton. They have that going for them.

Green got to the tourney riding O'Neil's players and that's it.

Cuonzo, in his first season, overachieved far greater than Buzz or Green ever dreamed of.

Trust me, I'm not claiming that Cuonzo is some great coach. I'm not even saying he is far ahead of these gusy but if you ask me to pick a guy out of that group (Buzz, Green, Zo) I am picking CCM without hesitation.

Green "somehow" getting to the tourney was based on his players. He had some great players. Those teams were loaded.

He sure did...and that is something Cunzo can't seem to "somehow" do...

Not so fast my friend. Maybe, but I'm not sure UT has got the coin to do it right now.

If he doesn't make the NCAAT but they are in a position financially that they feel they have to let him come back one more year, then I would say you would almost have to bring back Pearl the year after to generate buzz for the program (no not that that Buzz).

As much as I've said it wouldn't happen, they don't make the NCAAT this year and keep him, they're basically telling me they're fine with 8K a game next season because the excitement for the program will be dead. No one will be excited for another year of MartinBall.

Doesn't make it any less true. Year 1 of the CCM era was an overachievement. Inherited a depleted roster.

And he missed the tourney last year and the excuse was Maymon was out. Now here we are smack dab on the bubble with Srs in McRae, Barton and Maymon and Jrs in Richardson and Stokes. A ton of experience and talent and we're still hanging on by our fingernails. Eventually, some of you will accept that this team is underachieving.

I haven't said they weren't. You can go back and read my posts if you want to understand what my post was in reference to.

most people were expecting the NIT with that roster and a coach thats never been to an NCAA tourney. he basically met expectations. ever since he has underachieved.

I understood what your post was in reference to. The fact of the matter is that the excuses for Martin are over. He has never made the NCAA tourney in 5 years. If he doesn't make it this year, it'll be 6 and counting.

Making the ncaa would've been overachieving. Being mediocre isn't.

Whatever Sparty. Being mediocre is overachieving when your predecessor leaves you 6 scholarship players, half of which couldn't play dead in a western.

Again, not saying I'm happy with Martin. But I give credit where it's due.

I wasn't making excuses for him. Simply stated that he was better than Jerry Green and Buzz Peterson, which he is.

I don't give two flying turds that Jerry Green went to the tourney four times. Derek Dooley could've taken those rosters to the dance.

I laughed

Stallings is going thru that this year at Vandy. And it couldn't happen to a better coach. IMO
