... if any of you are on FaceBook, there has been a group for some time, called, Football Fans Against Tom Ritter. So it's not just us who thinks he pulls calls out of his *&%%^.

(seriously, a short lateral wrist-pull across your chest is "taunting" but a backwards high-stepping for several yards is nothing????)

Ritter is one of the very worst, with possible exception of Alama Matthews, Vandy grad, who should NEVER be allowed to call a UT game.

crappy ref for sure, probably got paid well.

no, you just have to come out for a play, unless the opposing team took it off of you

A little off topic but was wondering after the game is the police escort for the referees or who?

He is without a doubt in the same class as Vern and Gary. We tend to get a shiite ref with the shiite announcers. He is, hands down, the worst ref in the SEC and possibly the country. He is truly the Ted Valentine of NCAA football.

i would rank Matthews as the king of shiite, but Ritter is close

Wrong:

Loss of Helmet During Play. If a player loses his helmet (other than as the result of a foul by the opponent, like a facemask), it will be treated like an injury. The player must leave the game and is not allowed to participate for the next play. Current injury timeout rules guard against using this rule to gain an advantage from stopping the clock. Additionally, if a player loses his helmet, he cannot continue to participate in the play (in order to protect him from injury). Data collected during the 2011 season indicated that helmets came off more than two times per game.

The coming out of the game is only changed if there is a foul that caused the helmet to come off. He has to stop play immediately if the helmet comes off for whatever reason.

Rule changes become official for several fall-season sports - NCAA.com

Correct, whether or not the helmet was removed by another player.

The pass interference call was BS at the end of the game the defender had his eye on the football and was trying to make a play

The SEC wants preserve marquee match ups like UFL vs. UGA. If TN would have won, would have killed that. I will be glad when TN gets so good they will win no matter how much they are cheated.

does anybody know what PF penalty was when announcers said took helmet off lineman. Replay showed hands to chest no helmet contact.

Has anybody answered this? Was that PF call BS? I never saw what happened or who did it.

Incorrect. If a player inadvertently loses his helmet during the play, he is no longer permitted to participate in the play. I don't recall the "penalty" but if you're no longer allowed to participate, yet choose to there has to be some repercussions.

There are probably 5 to 15 of these instances every week in the SEC without penalty!

The throat slash is an automatic penalty no matter what, and on previous weeks it has always been called. So I am pretty skeptical about your claim...though it's possible the refs miss a few.

I guess you guys have already forgotten how the refs gave us a very favorable spot to set up a 4th and very short which we converted by only inches.

Tennessee should never allow these two clowns to call a Tennessee game or any game for that matter. As was said earlier, ritter is always doing big games, and, always the fave gets a couple of crucial calls during the game. The pass interference call on Ga's kast regulation drive(the second call)was unreal.I always thought that the defensive player had to at least touch the offensive player to get the call.I guess I'm wrong about that. Our guys won this game on the field, only to have slimeworks gofers decide it.let the sonsofa*****es play!!!GO Vols.

Going to quote myself

I remember hearing some officials once that they do not like to determine a game so unless its blatantly obvious they will let it go. That my friends wasn't and the ref's ruined the natural outcome of the game!

Didn't see it mentioned, but Worley took a hand to the face...right in front of Ritter. I suppose all QBs except ours are being protected by the Refs.

When we get back to this point we will be the marquee match up and will get the calls.
