The Road To Hoover

Vandy is currently tied with Ole Miss for 7th in the SEC at 17-12. OM plays A&M and if they lose and Vandy loses today, Vandy would win the tie breaker as the highest ranked common opponent is Carolina and OM lost all 3 to them.

So, win or lose it may not make any difference if Vandy wins or loses today, in the conference and/or nationally. What are the chances Vandy says screw you Tennessee and plays a bunch of subs today, pitches a few guys with virtually no innings this year, in a round about way throws the game? With that said, Vandy's subs are probably better than Auburn's starters so it may not make a difference one way or another.

Providing we win today, our chances of advancement will be determined by the team that probably hates us the most....

I say none, because in reality scenarios like that only happen in the minds of the fanbases. I don't believe for a second any team would actually tank on purpose to "screw over" a rival. That's just not how things actually work.

I won't say it 100% never happens and it probably did happen a long time ago, but like I said, that scenario is more the imagination of fans.

This is a ridiculous thing to say and shows zero knowledge of Tim Corbin or the Vanderbilt baseball program. If Auburn wins it will be because they won not because Vandy threw the game.

No question the greatest rivalry in sec baseball, and maybe all of baseball for now, is Florida vs Vandy. You've got the two most elite rosters, two coaches who used to share the same desk at Clemson, playing in the same division and usually for some share of the league title. The teams do not like each other, to say the least!

As a Vandy fan I wanted to play the Gators in Omaha last year and make them watch as Vandy hoisted a real trophy after the way they acted in Hoover and Nashville. I had no issue losing to UVA but losing to Florida would have hurt.

IN! and I don't care about the rest.

GBO!!!

Did Vandy finish Auburn off? I stopped following it after SEC Network switched their game back to the original game scheduled but was in a rain delay. Vandy was up 4-2 when I stopped watching it. I believe it was in the top of the 8th inning.

Amazing UF went from 1st to 4th in the matter of 2 days. That SCar-UF game that was cancelled turned out to be pivotal. Even though they both only played 29 games it prevented UF from holding the tie-breaker had they won. And potentually cost them the tiebreaker with AM. Not much difference in 3rd and 4th except who you face in Hoover.

State wins first SEC regular season title since 1989! That's an unbelievable drought for that program! From 14th to 1st in one season; crazy turnaround for Cohen and Co

The Wierd part is we talk all the time on here about rebuilding being so hard in the sec but USCe and miss state both have made huge arounds this year laughing at that notion
