For metal? Yeah..the 90's were good.

If you're talking about less mainstream stuff like Iced Earth, Blind Guardian, Jag Panzer, In Flames, Angel Dust, Grave Digger, Symphony X, Dream Theater, etc. Then yeah I agree. If you're talking about mainstream "Nu Metal" bands like Korn, Slipknot, Nine Inch Nails, Marylin Manson, Staind, etc then I'd have to strongly disagree.

Pantera - Vulgar Display, Cowboys From Hell, Far Beyond Driven
Megadeth - Rust in Peace, Countdown to Extinction
Metallica - Black Album
Sepultura - Arise, Chaos A.D.

Probably 4 or 5 of my all-time favorite heavy albums in that list, all from the 90s.
