Oddly, I just never could get into Pantera.

Yeah, that is...odd. I was playing a lot of electric guitar at the time, and DD's brutal riffs really did it for me. I can still play a bunch of their stuff -- I had a Pantera evening a couple weeks ago using the guitar backing track online archive and my Line6 plug-in.

I was always confused why my metalhead friends never really liked them. Even though they were popular, they were never mainstream. They were incredibly heavy and the musicianship was top notch. Cowboys, Vulgar, and Far Beyond Driven put them in the elite area.
