The Roger Stone Trial

As to this juror issue, a lot depends on what was known at the time by counsel, and what was disclosed by the juror. This in turn depends largely on what was posted before/after trial.

And let's not forget, she was not the only juror. 11 other people voted to convict, as well, so Trumpsters may want to think about the unintended consequences of doing this again, i.e. what else might come out about Trump if there is a second trial. Now, that is not Stone's concern. But Trump would probably prefer this just fade away.

She was the foreperson of the jury though.

I appreciate your insights on this.
Thanks. I think lawgator nailed it. the operative questions are who knew what? when did they know it? was there any misdirection?

Jury issues tend to be relatively good issues after a conviction and Jackson has and had far less white space on the page to make decisions than the judge in the Flynn case.

This judge is in a weird spot. If she gives Stone a 7-9 year sentence he will almost immediately get pardoned. If she gives him a low sentence then she looks like she got beaten into it by the President.

I doubt it is likely to happen but if she grants him a new trial she could effectively punt this past the election and not have to deal with this circus after re-elected/lame duck trump parsons him.

Thank you for your perspective. I appreciate your posts in many different threads. You seem a lot less partisan then the other legal minds on the board.

So? Everyone has to agree. So 11 other people voted to convict. She doesn't get to override any no votes. She does not control the evidence.

11 voted just like her to convict on, what, seven or eight charges?

The lead has a little more power but yes they all had to vote to convict.

Not exactly a heel turn. In fact, his account regarding the Stone reversal lines up with Trump's. He's just pointing out the obvious . . . somebody has to put a governor on Trump's Twitter account.
You know the only solution to his twitter use is jail.

We’ll see. He broke the cardinal rule of this administration and publicly criticized Trump.

He’s already being called a cuck on The_Donald.

“If Barr had control of his department it wouldn’t have happened in the first place.”

“It’s DOJ making Trump’s job harder...”

“If Barr was doing his job...”

“Barr has exactly 0 indictments of deep state...”
