The SEC could have 7 teams finish the season 10-2

Missouri isn't good. They are going to drop another game or 2.
You think, of course they are not. They have beaten barely a decent Vandy Team and a terrible BC with some cupcakes to get to two losses. They play an easy schedule on the way out but have to ruin the table. Even if they do they will not have the tiebreaker to make it to the SEC Championship game. 10 -2 could happen but highly unlikely. 15% chance.

ACC will not be a problem. So far Clemson has played one decent team and got crushed. Miami has not played a ranked team and does not play one in regular season. Pitt plays SMU and Clemson so that will eliminate one or two of those teams. SMU has not played a team currently ranked. They play Pitt so that is their only chance unless they make ACC Champ game.
Maybe. Clemson could easily run the table and Miami should run the table. Then if Clemson beats Miami I could see 2 12-1 teams making it. There’s a chance SMU or Pitt could end up with 1 loss as well. If the ACC has 2 teams with 1 or fewer losses and we lose to UGA I sure won’t feel confident about making it over those ACC teams. There’s a ton of ball left though and such things often work themselves out. And screw losing to UGA. Let’s just go whip their butts and then we are in.

Love this way of thinking. Whip KY’s ass this week and keep the train running and get in with only 1 loss!! Go Vols!!!

There are currently 9 SEC teams with 2 or fewer losses. There are scenarios where as many as 7 of those teams could end the regular season at 10-2, which would be insanity. Out of the 6 teams with only 1 loss currently, I believe only the winner of Tenn/UGA and Texas have a real chance of finishing with only one loss. How many teams do you think end the regular season with 1 loss and how many with 2 losses?

My prediction is (0) 1-loss teams and (4-5) 2-loss teams.

Below is the remaining schedule for each of the 9 teams with 2 or fewer losses:

Texas A&M (6-1): LSU, @USC, New Mexico St, @Auburn, Texas

LSU (6-1): @A&M, Alabama, @UF, Vandy, Okla

Georgia (6-1): UF, @Ole Miss, UT, U Mass, GT

Tennessee (6-1): UK, Miss St, @UGA, Utep, @Vandy

Missouri (6-1): @Alabama, Okla, @USC, @Miss St, Ark

Texas (6-1): @Vandy, UF, @Ark, UK, @A&M

Vandy (5-2): Texas, @Auburn, USC, @lsu, Tenn

Alabama (5-2): Mizz, @lsu, Mercer, @ Okla, Auburn

Ole Miss (5-2): Okla, @Ark, UGA, UF, Miss St.
LSU will beat bama and then LSU will lose to Florida the following week.

SEC Title game will be the winner of the Texas battle and the winner of Georgia vs. Tennessee IMO. Sure, there are chances for upset but I am leaning towards that matchup.

I don't think LSU is that good and was a product of a soft early schedule. They will drop another game (likely Alabama next week). That USC loss in Vegas is really going to hurt LSU's playoff shot. That is a worse loss than our Arkansas loss IMO.
I agree their USC loss is worse than our loss at Arkansas. That being said, I think they beat Bama at night in Death Valley in a couple weeks.

That’s the ticket right there. Let’s not leave it in anyone else’s hands. There’s only one way to do that.

Here is how I rank the resumes (right now) for the teams still alive for playoffs...

1. UGA
2. A&M
3. Tennessee
4. Texas
5. Bama
6. LSU
7. Ole Miss
Texas resume sucks they are 2-1 against traditional SEC schools with their only wins being MSU and Vandy. Their best win a 4-3 Michigan team. Interested to see how they perform against common opponents with the Vols down the stretch. We have 5 common opponents. Need to beat the brakes off some folks down the stretch

I think Texas stays behind us assuming same record. They dont have an Alabama type win....

Does a 10-2 Bama team pass us if we lose to UGA?

It probably depends on how we look against UGA and Vandy and how they look against Oklahoma. The head-to-head win is nice but so is their win against UGA and LSU (hypothetically). The committee will understand that Bama had the benefit of playing UGA in Tuscaloosa, but at a minimum we need to be competitive against UGA and beat Vandy convincingly, IMO.

Good news is if Bama passes us, LSU is out. There may be room for both Tennessee and Bama…

So it's too soon for my 2027 preview? But in all seriousness, there is a better than 50/50 chance you have 3-4 SEC teams with 1 conference loss so I have no idea who would play in the championship game. Might be a situation where a team that doesn't get to play due to some weird tie breaker is grateful.
I think we lose a lot of multi team tie breakers due to our Arkansas loss while other teams in the mix will have beat them.

Tennessee might drop this game to Ky, they’ll lose to Georgia and there’s a high probability of losing the Vandy
