1. That's the best win of Pearl's tenure. They won a game played at postseason pace against a potential Final Four team and came out on top.
2. That's also the best game of Bobby Maze's career. You can win a bunch of games with that point guard play.
3. Renaldo Woolridge looked solid shooting 3s. He still looks akward handling the ball on the perimeter.
4. Steve Pearl's free throw was the basketball equivalent of a 370 pound woman in a thong. He did make a solid play drawing the charge on Morris.
5. Wayne Chism has got to be smarter than to pick up his third foul of the game at the end of the first half. The risk of not getting the call far outweighs the benefits of drawing a charge.
6. Bill Self's decision to play a YMCA 2-3 and let Tennessee shorten the game was utterly baffling. It allowed UT to minimize the effects of their foul trouble.
7. Nothing says bigtime college basketball like a bunch of kids from 4 hours away jumping rope at halftime. For the love of God, just scrap the "entertainment" completely.
8. That'll rank with the upset of Florida Pearl's first year on my list of great TBA moments. It still wasn't as much fun as the Corey Allen "How The Hell Did That Happen" win over Kentucky.
9. This should lead to a great SEC start for UT. There's absolutely no reason they shouldn't have an 8-0 or 7-1 league record out of the gate.
10. If that's all Kansas is going to get out of their complementary players, they're not going to win the national title. For that matter, they won't win the Big 12 with Morningstar, Reed, et al playing as if they picked up the game yesterday.

Being the basketball guy that you are, what the hell was he doing in the game at that point anyway. You had essentially already arrived at halftime even up, why insert?

i think that was the real bobby maze. it was probably the first time he was truly playing the point gaurd spot. that was usually tyler handling the ball and running the offense.

I didn't understand it at all. If you're going to put him back in, I'm not sure why you ever took him out. You either have confidence in him playing with 2 fouls or you don't.

He made a great basket in the paint prior to the foul.

As the announcers said over and over, he's a senior that has played 4 years and has to be smarter than that.

What about Kenny Hall's play, Hat? He did a great job of fronting Aldrich imo.

The only negative about that was that it gave us one more year of Wade Houston.

It was the best effort I have seen from this Team in a long long time.

You take away there terrible free throw shooting and it may have been the best.

Irrelevant. The game is not decided on some basket right before the first half ends. If you sit him all that time because you believe he is too valuable to get a 3rd foul, then it is idiotic to put him in for 60 seconds. Those 60 seconds were not going to win you the game.

Pearl is a very complex case study as a coach.

He's seems to thrive under adversity, and has trouble handling prosperity.

When he is a big underdog, or has a seriously depleted roster against the #1 team in the country, he shines.

When we are picked to be great, and have a loaded bench, we flounder.

Pearl is a hell of a motivator.

Great job tonight, keep it rolling.

You would like to think you can count on a 4 year starter to have the basketball IQ not to pick up a cheap foul.

Tonight's game was the best I have seen our guards (or the entire team) play. Bobby did a beautiful job running the point and was name the MVP. I cannot say enough about the way this team jelled and stayed focus, we just have to hit those FT. GREAT WIN with many more to come. I do believe if the other three do get back on the team, they have lost their starting positions because tonight those starting 5 had it going on....well off the bench did to. GO VOLS!

If coach really believes that then why was he not playing prior to getting down to 2 possessions in the half.
