Pearl is a very complex case study as a coach.
He's seems to thrive under adversity, and has trouble handling prosperity.
When he is a big underdog, or has a seriously depleted roster against the #1 team in the country, he shines.
When we are picked to be great, and have a loaded bench, we flounder.
Pearl is a hell of a motivator.
Great job tonight, keep it rolling.
10. If that's all Kansas is going to get out of their complementary players, they're not going to win the national title. For that matter, they won't win the Big 12 with Morningstar, Reed, et al playing as if they picked up the game yesterday.
Sometimes is it easy to lose site of how much of a factor motivation is in sports, especially Basketball.
He put himself in such a bad position on that play that the behind the back dribble was actually the only chance he had of not turning it over. Well, I'm off to help run up an NBA expense account. Knowing Gary Williams was due to roll Leonard Hamilton results in dinner being gratis for me tonight.Or not to dribble behind the back while being double teamed.

4. Steve Pearl's free throw was the basketball equivalent of a 370 pound woman in a thong. He did make a solid play drawing the charge on Morris.
8. That'll rank with the upset of Florida Pearl's first year on my list of great TBA moments. It still wasn't as much fun as the Corey Allen "How The Hell Did That Happen" win over Kentucky.

I'm really happy for this guy. Without him we lose tonight. Thanks for the break-down. I find it funny after such a great win we have people having threads about Pearl-Haters...besides the kids won the game did they not?1. That's the best win of Pearl's tenure. They won a game played at postseason pace against a potential Final Four team and came out on top.
2. That's also the best game of Bobby Maze's career. You can win a bunch of games with that point guard play.
3. Renaldo Woolridge looked solid shooting 3s. He still looks akward handling the ball on the perimeter.

5. Wayne Chism has got to be smarter than to pick up his third foul of the game at the end of the first half. The risk of not getting the call far outweighs the benefits of drawing a charge.
6. Bill Self's decision to play a YMCA 2-3 and let Tennessee shorten the game was utterly baffling. It allowed UT to minimize the effects of their foul trouble.
7. Nothing says bigtime college basketball like a bunch of kids from 4 hours away jumping rope at halftime. For the love of God, just scrap the "entertainment" completely.

9. This should lead to a great SEC start for UT. There's absolutely no reason they shouldn't have an 8-0 or 7-1 league record out of the gate.
