Calamari stated that the SEC championship was not important to him...well, I guess this game wasn't either!! GBO!!! :lolabove::lolabove::lolabove:

How many walk ons has Coach Cal had play big time minutes for him? We're all arm chair coaches who think we know more then Bruce. I guess that's why he's making 2 mill+ and we not. At least I'm not. LOL.

Exactly what part of Pearl's strategic brilliance caused UK to miss 8 shots within 5 feet in the first half? Also, who made the brilliant decision to hold the ball and kill UT's offensive rythm?

I'm confident you're a Vol fan so just enjoy this one. Big win today.

I am not saying I know why, but you have to admit Bruce does extremely well again Cal and Donovan.

We had no business playing Kentucky close at Rupp and this was a great win.

1. Another fabulous home win. It's always good to send the home folks to their cars happy.

Not just to their cars, but in our living rooms at home. I wish I could have gone to this game!!! This game and the Kansas game had me screaming, dancing and singing. I can enjoy dinner tonight with my friends and family...

It was a great win for Pearl and his guys today. Kentucky is clearly a very talented basketball team. Wall and Bledsoe look even quicker in person than they do on television.

That's quite a statement. It'll be interesting to see what these guys do in the tournament.

The only reason they made the huge run when we were up 16 was because Pearl rested some players and brought in Mcbee/Pearl. Our offense became non-existent with those 2 in there with Goins running the point, and they went on that huge run that got it to single digits by getting the easy rebounds off our prayers with no time on the clock. Then the beast that is wall just killed us in transition. They were obviously going to make runs, but that was the biggest reason for them getting back in the game.

Allowed them to bring it back to a nail-biter game, but in hindsight it was the right decision. We still had our legs down the stretch with Maze/Hopson and our forwards on the court.

Bledsoe let 'em down today. He was weak.

And Hat I'm perfectly willing to change my statement to "two first rounders and/or the first overall pick and other quality collegians". Will that make you feel better?

Bruce Pearl is a damn good basketball coach. period. Cal has had two final fours vacated and is attached at the hip with the personification of all that is wrong with college basketball. I know which one I would rather root for.
Yeah, Wes is so much worse than the Pumps.

the officiating played a part in the cats getting back into it...there's no way a team can cut 12 points off a lead in 3 minutes shooting 20-30% from the field without some help from the guys in the stripes...they finally got some calls right down the stretch that helped seal the win

not taking anything away from KY however, but IMO the game should not have been close down the stretch

Tennessee needed this win to carry them next week and into the SEC Tourney.

If this team can peak in March/April they will enjoy their best postseason ever.

IMO, our offense ran just fine prior to that with McBee and Pearl in the game. The problem was that we were unwilling to push the ball and look for early opportunities and relied on one pass for late opportunities.

I think the fact that we took and missed 20 plus 3 point attempts during the period that UK came back had a lot more to do with it than McBee and Pearl.

I had a feeling when Kentucky came out practicing for the dunk contest next year that they were going to start out slow and not focused. We also caught them coming off a road game on Thursday. However, when it was close at the end our guys closed it out and they did not. Go Vols!

My LOL moment of the game: Kentucky fans booing our football staff when they were introduced at midcourt

Well, I couldn't go to the game because I was getting the DirecTV HD upgrade. It was a nightmare in my apartment building, and is just now being wrapped up (unless another problem screws me).

Anyway, I had to listen to Bob Kesling. He really stinks. The listener never gets a real feel for the game, and Bob misses calls on a regular basis.

Could somebody please describe the middle school wrestling thing that Hat referred to?

So Hat, do you still feel Bruce doesn't consistently outcoach Calipari? We've had better talent than them exactly one time over the course of their meetings, and Bruce consistently does exactly what he did today and what he did the first 32 minutes at Kentucky.

I just wish WWW would cut Calipari off so we'd see him without two first rounders every year.

I noticed Hatvol didnt address your question about Calipari......Let me answer for him: No way is Coach Cal a superior coach. If he has ever made that comment which I am not saying he did, he is dead wrong. Its obvious that Pearl is a superior coach although Calipari is the best recruiter in the country no doubt. X's and O's is not his strength though.
