What I am saying is that if UK with Calipari at the helm is going to be our biggest rival, that is not so terrible for us. Bruce can handle Cal. He has shown it consistently, and with less talent. I mentioned that to Hat before and he said it wasn't so, but I don't think anyone can look at the rosters and the current record between the two and say otherwise. Bruce, for all his faults, generally owns Billy D and can hang with Cal. That's a pretty good place to be for a team in the SEC east.

Titanic, if we're talking about who is the worst matchup as a UK coach for UT simply considering head to head matchups, Cal isn't the guy. Pearl will do OK in the two yearly meetings. I'm sure Majerus, Gillispie, Dixon, or about 50 other guys would be worse if that's all you are concerned about. However, if you
are worried about them winning just about every SEC title and going to a bunch of Final Fours while we struggle to make an Elite Eight, they hired the perfect guy.

This was a sweet win for the fans and players. However, it helped this teams post-season future more than anything else.

What can you do? Who could we hire who would be able to match the recruiting machine Cal has in his own current track record and the connections he has with Wes and the shoemongers? I personally think if we fired Bruce tomorrow and hired someone 100 times we would be worse off 95 out of those times. So I choose to be positive. Plus it's not going to happen, and if you listen to the guy he certainly doesn't sound like he's leaving of his own accord anytime soon.

Bruce has proven he can coach at this level, proven he can recruit at this level, and proven he can promote the program at this level. Now all he has to do is get hot in the tournament. When he finds a point guard he is more than capable of doing that. This team, had Tyler Smith not gone off the deep end, might have been able to do that. We have good defense, we just need someone else who can create and rebound.

If "I listen to him?" Did he tell everyone he sent the Pumps begging after the Arizona job? Did he tell everyone he all but crawled to Bloomington in an attempt to get that job? If you believe what he says, more power to you.

I didn't really see much hate. If that amount of honest criticism gets under your skin I can't imagine what you would do if someone said something worse. Just enjoy the win, it's a huge one for us.

Don't make things up. I can guarantee you these things didn't happen in the way you mention them but we've already had this discussion you and I and I don't feel like rehashing. But no this is not what happened.

Great job as usual Hat.... I'm a big fan of the PPGR (or the section 103 PGR... as the case may be). It's one of my favorite recurring threads on VN. This was a tremendous win and I have to admit... After the last game I wouldn't have bet a nickel that it would have happened....

And where do you get that information? From someone you know in the coaching profession that probably feels the same way about CBP as you do? You don't have any confirmation that that happened, and I find it hard to believe you would give him the benefit of the doubt on anything. Bruce knows how to play the game and make himself some cash, but if he wanted to get another job he could get one, and probably for similar money. He's here because we're paying him well and because he wants to be.

I love how you seem to defend and respect others in the profession who have plenty of stink on them, but when it comes to Bruce you get all holier than thou.

And by the way, Hat didn't start this here, I did. He was overwhelmingly positive in his points after, but I wanted to see if he still felt Cal was consistently outcoaching Bruce. That's it. Hopefully we can all enjoy this win.
