The shut down thread

Even though government employees are grossly overpaid I can understand being reimbursed when a shutdown happens. Contractors however are free to go find work elsewhere and shouldn’t be thrown under the same blanket as a government employee.

By that logic, government employees can't go get jerbs? Or did MS13 rape and murder them?

LOL. Still crying I see. Tell me grasshopper, have your rants done any good about the issues you're ranting about? You have so much anger over something you can't control. Trump owns you on a daily basis. Your personal hatred for an American President has consumed you almost to a level of madness towards everybody.
Bringing hypocrisy to light is the way of the enlightend grasshopper. The anger you see comes from within you, young ant-man

Kinda.

These people were sucking fumes because of the incompetence of the government. "pork"

Remember when this was all a clever ploy by the chess master to fire all the .gov employees? LOL, that may be the dumbest... Who was it that said that? AV?

LOL

Could definitely stand to trim some of the pork.

Sure they can and they’re gonna get back pay when the shutdown is over. The independent contractor is not.

The number of contractors in the federal workforce is absurd.

Many people who are hired by fed to do Job A eventually manage to contract their job out. 1 contractor to do the job of 4 Feds is how the consultancy I worked for used to do the back of the envelope estimates. It was a running joke...but it wasn’t really a joke.

the truly enlightened grasshopper is either partisan agnostic when it comes to bringing hypocrisy to light or if truly, truly enlightened recognizes that hypocrisy is so rampant that pointing it doesn't accomplish much. I'm neither fully enlightened nor truly, truly enlightened but I'm working on it.

Take the 1.375B and use it for ICE officers/Border Patrol. Then declare the Emergency re-appropriate funds to build what ICE says is necessary for wall they need and be done with it.

Trump's new strategy is to say: "The wall is already being built and it's almost finished!"

The question that none of his supporters will ask: "If that is true, then why was it necessary to keep the government shut down for 5 weeks over it (beginning less than two months ago)?"

You know what pork is don't play stupid. All of the sudden you're worried about Americans while supporting open borders?

We don't have 'open borders', stop being stupid. Squirrel Hair was just touting how great of a job the border agents were doing.

They aren't bright enough to make that connection. Whatever Donny blurts out is their reality.

You can't see the forrest for the trees, can you?

America's coffers aren't Donalds slush funds to be used against the Peoples will. The separation checks and balances are separate and equal. Declaring an "emergency" wouldn't hold water in any court, by the way - didn't Donny just tell the Dems to chill out and have some fun, that things were great? Doesn't sound like a "emergency."

So not an emergency his first two years in office but one now?

Furthermore he chose political reasons over “security”. It’s the only reason he didn’t push for this before the midterms. So it’s an emergency only when not during an election. Interesting.
wait what? why would he pull a political stunt not during an election?
i can get being critical of the action, but I am not following your reasoning here.

NO. Every branch over steps its boundaries. this isn't an emergency. its something that needs to be fixed, but its not an emergency.

So nobody would be shocked if Trump declares a national emergency to try and build the wall, but what would be the reaction among Republicans if he tries to divert disaster relief funds intended for Puerto Rico and California? I’m not saying he’ll acually do that, for what it’s worth.

He would be 100% in the wrong if he declares a national emergency.

I agree. However, I’m also a little scared about the “other sources” he has mentioned. It’s one thing if it’s diverting excess military funds. It’s another thing if it’s disaster relief.

I doubt he diverts funds from either.
