Since Ive gone all day without stating my views on it, I'll share now that Ive had time to analyze it all.
Here goes:
The "right" side of the room did catch up on some rest, as they rarely had to rise from their very condescending seats. I thought he appeared humble at one point, but it was only for a brief moment. He saved the typical Bush bashing antics he's accustomed to for the very last and it wasn’t well received. All in all, he looked like he was campaigning still and maybe he is. My thoughts on it could be summed up like this.
I think he has made a realization that not everything he comes up with is going to be well thought of.
I think he's made a consorted effort to come to the middle, but at the same time reserving the right to blame the Republicans if anything fails.
I think his healthcare reform is on the verge of crippling this country into submission for socialist politics.
I think his kickbacks for rural/ small business owners are a crock of crap that will never see the light of day.
I think his infatuation with "green jobs" is a ploy to appease both left and right-wingers, but has no real solutions in its creation.
I think his "student loan" reimbursement incentive package will cause the value of education and the dollar to plummet.
I think he'll be hard pressed to "achieve" something substantial within the next 6 months in order to have something new to ramble about at his second State of the Union Address.
And lastly,
I think he looks as much like an unqualified "orator" as he did a year ago. Not the "Statesmen" that he aspires to be.
Im pretty much in agreement with what many of you have said, and can see some truth in what the Dem posters are saying also. Just my thoughts.
