The Supreme Court of the United States Thread

I understand and sympathize. I'm not a fan of the ACA either. But frankly, it's saved my bacon and continues to do so, so I'm kindof beholden to it.

I have no problem with any organization or party that wants to bring up a replacement. I encourage it.
I fear the only real solution is to...

Get rid of insurance. People have to pay out of their pockets for medical care. The current way is a positive feedback system and prices/costs will never do anything but go up and be unaffordable. The most affordable significant medical/surgical procedures available in America are plastic surgeries which are not covered by insurance.

I know this is oversimplified, but I'll summarize the real issue: any system that does not recognize the necessity for or increase the negative feedback is going to fail to control costs or provide necessary care.

Why is the American way anyways to create the most pain for the individual, especially the outliers?

It’s cost me a bunch of money and I have no other options as a small business man. I too welcome reform

Meh, hyperbole. Justice James McReynolds (a TN native I believe) stated that he would not accept "Jews, drinkers, blacks, women, smokers, married or engaged individuals" as law clerks. Not sure about corruption, but the bar seems to be pretty low for SCOTUS individual ethics (for a handful at least). Clarence Thomas certainly isn’t the least corrupt justice to ever grace us with their presence.
I think it depends on how you view his failure to recuse/vote to block subpoenas of text messages that ultimately showed his wife advocating a coup. If you believe (without conclusive proof) that that action was knowing, then corrupt works, IMO.

I think inferring knowledge from the vote is tenuous and circular. I don’t know that he knew what his wife was up to and don’t think it’s productive to accuse him without more proof. It’s just another example of why cable news is stupid.

I don’t know enough Supreme Court history to label him “most corrupt in history” even if that turns out to be true. I think he’s just overtly partisan, just like Alito and Sotomayor.

It’s easy when it’s on someone else’s dime.
