I didn’t mean they are any different than what they have always been, just that they matter less. Rosters are often very different from the regular season so bowl results are less significant. It’s like the whole world has been brainwashed lol. They are what they’ve always been - 2 or 3 games that determine the national champ and the rest are a bunch of fun exhibition games.
You forgot about the players who were transferring. The ones who don't have any other option, yes, of course the bowl game matters, but to ANY player (on a team not in playoff) that has ANY other option, the game doesn't matter. If Squirrel, Nico, Cooper, etc ever have any other option, they will opt out or transfer. My proof is easy. Look at FSU. Look at Ohio State. Look at Tennessee. As I have already pointed out, this becomes a battle of who gets hit least by opt outs and the transfer portal.Sorry but you are wrong. To the ones who are opting out, yes they don’t matter. You think the bowl game doesn’t matter to the ones who are starting in the game? If so, prove it. Show me proof that the game is irrelevant ti Squirrell, Nico, Cooper, Sampson and many others.
Show your proof.
I’d say the FSU thing is a completely unique situation. OSU just lacks motivation and I think it’d be the same 10 or 20 years ago. Hard to go from National title contention to playing a no name opponent 1,000 miles from home.True, but have you not seen the articles today about Ohio State and FSU not selling their ticket allotments? How is that Cotton Bowl going?
Sorry but there have been numerous examples of entire teams not caring about a bowl game. I think I recall a Bama team not showing up at the Sugar Bowl a few years back and got their butt handed to them by an inferior Utah team. It happens.Sorry but you are wrong. It does happen. But not all the time. Bowl games matter. And I am still waiting on boo to show proof that our bowl game doesn’t matter to our players who are playing in it.Sorry but there have been numerous examples of entire teams not caring about a bowl game. I think the Citrus Bowl matters more now to the players that are left since Nico is starting his era. They’ll be excited. But overall, I’ve seen plenty of bowl games where teams just flat didn’t want to be there. It does happen. But not all the time. Bowl games matter. OSU is also missing a bunch of offensive starters. The other reason FSU isn’t selling tickets is that they won’t be watching anywhere close to the same team. Read a CBS Sports article today that said FSU is missing TWENTY players from their two deep roster. Why would anybody pay thousands of dollars to travel and see that mess?I’d say the FSU thing is a completely unique situation. You should be. No matter what a lot of people over on some of the UK forums are saying, UK played a good game today. And as I said earlier, I give big props to Ray Davis for showing up. That says a lot about Stoops as well.
See you on the hardwood
Exactly. Every year 4-0/5-0 every body thinks stoops finally has his team. Then lose 5-6 on backside of season, and disappear into obscurity again. EVERY YEARUh, no disrespect but how is that different than any other offseason in the past decade plus?
UK is always optimistic and about to turn the corner until October then the inevitable mid-season collapse starts.
Wasn’t that the point he was making?
You could spend more time on the Wildcat Forums. It was a point that had little to do with what I was saying. I was talking about how I felt good entering the offseason and starting the new year. As usual, a UT fan comes in to say "but you always struggle the back half of the season". I'm aware it makes UT fans happy to jump off the top rope with a snide comment every time there is some joy in another fan base. The schadenfreude is strong within VN.
