The Taxslayer Gator Bowl: #22 Clemson (8-4) vs Kentucky (7-5) (ESPN, 12PM ET)

Have you seen Ohio State play this year? They may win because OSU tends to get lucky... but it won't be a beat down.
I think OSU’s starting QB already entered the transfer portal too, didn’t he? Any word also about whether Marvin Harrison Jr will play tonight or sit this out?

This is why Kentucky is Kentucky…6 fricking sacks in the game and they decide to rush 3 and let Clemson win…you just can’t call a worse defense than that.
Rushing 3 never works, yet staffs continue to do it when they get a lead late.
More like stupid prevent defense
Let’s be fair here, the reason they lost is probably more the “3 turnovers inside their own 30 on 3 straight drives in the 4th quarter” than anything else.

Yes. OSU is debuting a new QB tonight (the first time in program history a QB has made his debut in their bowl game). He was a 4-star out of Utah. Ole Miss was the only SEC program that offered him. Harrison Jr. has worked out with the team (without pads) all week. They won't say if he's going to play tonight or not.

I dont think any of these high level coaches get by without getting their hands a little dirty.

And the way he built up Clemson looks a little suspicious at times too.

Plus he said he'd quit coaching when players started getting compensated.

“We try to teach our guys, use football to create the opportunities, take advantage of the platform and the brand and the marketing you have available to you. But as far as paying players, professionalizing college athletics, that’s where you lose me. I’ll go do something else, because there’s enough entitlement in this world as it is.”

Guess that 115 million dollar contract he signed last year made him rethink his position.

Won easy money on this game. I had a feeling UK would keep it close even in a loss. Clemson was pretty lucky throughout the game considering all dogshit their defense was. The kicking, the turnovers, it took a lot for UK to lose this game. Even with a loss I'm optimistic about the team heading into the offseason and next year.

You should be. No matter what a lot of people over on some of the UK forums are saying, UK played a good game today. And as I said earlier, I give big props to Ray Davis for showing up. That says a lot about Stoops as well.

See you on the hardwood

Of course that didn’t help. But blitzing and/or normal pass rush resulted in 6 sacks and multiple intentional groundings, including one just 3-4 plays before the winning TD. Klubnik is a spaz under pressure and they didn’t force him to be one late.

Yeah things started when Spiller and Sammy Watkins all of a sudden ended up at Clemson. A pastor at a local megachurch was awfully cozy with the athletic dept. That has caused smoke for years, as their new-found success seemed to coincide with the relationship 🤷‍♂️
But don’t let the “aww shucks”, us against the world nonsense fool you. They ain’t all that. That’s why I enjoy watching them lose

Net 2 on the turnovers. When you let a team drive the length of the field in 60 seconds when you have a five point lead you better look at that 60 seconds and see what you should have done differently. The prevent defense was allowing them to get chunk after chunk play and Ky, did nothing differently--they just continued with the same failing defense--That is poor coaching!

Perfect opportunity to really kick Clemson down, but didn't get the job done. Thanks for the SEC bowl loss, Kensucky!!

Any Clemson fan gives you some lip about it, tell em the Vols beat Kentucky every year and you got 3114 other reasons not to care what they think 👍

All that matters in this stat is that Tennessee hasn’t played their bowl yet.
I would argue otherwise. These are two losses by teams which are considered two of Tennessee's best wins. I would rather the conference be 2-0 at this point.
