The Texas A&M (HOLY **** THIS GAME GUYS) Postgame Report

Dude has had a big hand in throwing some daggers in some big games, including 2 recent ones, but people still say he sucks.

He's challenged, it can't be argued, but the guy gives his all. I was frustrated we didnt make the move to put Richardson on turner soooner, but I guess that was because of foul trouble? Mcbee played as good of D as you possibly can, but he's just a bit too short to affect the shot when turner pulls up. Like Z mentioned though, Mcbee wore turner down, and Richardson came in and closed it.

No doubt that Turner is a good player. However, he was tired in the second half and it showed with his outside shot accuracy after the first half. The inevitable result of playing all those minutes with a supporting cast that is not quite so good.

Honestly, no.
We want Florida to beat Arkansas.

Arky is on the Bubble and has a win over us. The pigs winning at UF would not be a good thing.

I think the point is for them to hit 5OTs so Florida will be more tired than we are :)

To expand on #5. Trae, Jordan, Josh, Skylar, and Jarnell played all 4 overtimes with no substitution. That's incredible. They still had legs at the end when A&M was gassed. Great job by those 5 guys.

I suspect a big part of the reason A&M was "gassed" was they were losing the war of attrition with players fouling out (4 fouled out for A&M to 0 for UT). Fewer elidgible players in the rotation at the end.

Only thing you can do as a coach is correct mistakes or overcome them. CM did both today. That's his job and all coaches make mistakes.

Agree. Nice adjustments.

Great effort by the team.

This. On the road in a difficult environment, yet showed resolve and resilience to overcome a rough (2 for 11) start, missing easy shots and put backs (underneath), and being out rebounded nearly 3-1 early on. Early foul trouble hurt, effected our gm plan. A confidence builder. A good win.

Honestly can't remember seeing the vols EVER play that hard for ANY coach, the determination and toughness won us that game

Josh needs to get back in the groove. There is film on him now, so adapt. He got beat on some hustle plays today and that's not like him.

Early foul trouble for Moore and Richardson effected play.

Mmmm not sure about this, UT hardly subbed (if they did at all) in the OTs

A N A B S O L U T E L Y A-M-A-Z-I-N-G WIN !!!!!

I've been watching since mid '60S of LAST CENTURY and I've never seen anything like it! Announcer said UT is 3-0 in triple OTs. Today was the first ever quadruple overtime for our Volunteers and they brought that home too!

I'm just glad a close, exciting, & important game went our way. Honestly the whole time I was watching I just ASSumed we would lose because that has just been our luck lately in athletics. I'm proud of the way we fought and never gave up. Beat the gators!

#11. Let me add this, kudos to Martin. We were constantly playing behind in OT. In the 3rd OT we got a lead but made a dumb decision on offense and lost it IMO. The 4th OT we got a 2 point lead, Zo called a TO got them to slow it down and get a good look. If you can get up 2 possessions in OT it's a huge advantage and once we did that in the 4th OT you could see A&M panic.
One crazy @ss game! I can't state how great it is to be a vol right now!

Josh Richardson was giving some important substitution help on defense for McBee on Turner at the end of one of those overtimes. Because he is a taller/longer defender he made all the difference IMHO on a couple of shots Turner attempted and missed in the OT's.
