The Texas A&M (HOLY **** THIS GAME GUYS) Postgame Report

That.... that was.... I just can't even believe it. Raw guts and key plays. We just beat a decent team playing well, on the road, while getting pretty much zero from Armani and the bench. That bodes well. I'll be there Tuesday night, section 326. Can't wait.

Today McBee was a cold azz honky

Coming into this game i know that the VOLS have some problems.i have not thought for one minuet until this game that Mcbee deserved his scolly but he hit some great shots and he was playing some solid defense even though he was matched up against someone he should not have been. And McRae an Golden are shooting the ball well also and besides the first 8 minuets the vols offense was alright and not stagnet but i still do not see where alot of you guys are coming up with this how great Richardson has been all year and to say he is our best mid range shooter and the best at UT since benard King. i really think if Moors offense can can get better he could be a special player he is by far the best conditioned and most athletic player on this team. And Stokes is just a manchild,18 an 19 year old players should not be made that way.move him to de on football field.and 5 wins in a row they done same thing last year got off to slow start then won and won but it was a little too late.i just hope it doesn,t turn out the same as last year.i hate the if,s and shouldavs but 2 conference and two out of conference losses should have been wins and we would have been on inside looking out instead of out lookin in.go VOLS beat those other sec teams and win sec tourney that is only way do go dancing is win sec tourney.

1. Guys, I'm a UT fan you see. I tried to be an unbiased person while writing and keep my postgame reports focused on basketball. This will not happen today. I cannot begin to adequately properly describe the absolute craziness of this game.

2. Jordan McRae played some crazy ass game. But let's not forget the huge 3 he hit at the end of the first OT (it was the first OT, right?) that sent the game into more OT's. What a ballsy shot.

3. Skylar McBee played his guts out. He gave Elston Turner everything he can handle. Turner was in the zone. You know how a starter in baseball has one of those gritty seven innings game, yeah, he gave up a couple runs, but had 130 pitches and let the bullpen (Josh Richardson) finish the job in a win? That was McBee. What a damn champ tonight. I would like to call him Skylar McDagger.

4. Bernard King Player of the Game: Trae Golden. He had two non charge turnovers in 60 minutes of basketball. He was 11-12 from the free throw line. He had six boards. He was a leader. And he two monster shots in the 4th OT to set up the McBee dagger. Wow.

5. Can I get a shout out to Nicodemus Christopher? The players looked like they had four more OT's in them. Their conditioning was fantastic. Big ups to him.

6. In my time since 2004 as a UT basketball fan, that's probably the craziest game I've watched. Again, it was incredible. Dear Lord.

7. Jarnell Stokes played 53 minutes and didn't foul out. That is incredible. He had four blocks. They were huge.

8. Coach Martin, it took ya awhile, but right call to go pick-n-roll with Golden/Stokes. That was the right call.

9. Say what you want about Coach Martin. His teams never gave up. Everything went TAMU's way early. Yet they kept going, never gave up, and kept attacking. That is what this basketball team is about.

10. Dear Florida. UT is coming for you. I'm already counting down to the minute for Tuesday night. TBA will be rocking out. UT will be pumped. I personally don't give a care about your ranking. UT is coming. You better watch out. That is all.

Go Vols!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

04 ? Pup. 1 word---Bottom! Good read.

False. These kids are 18-22 years of age. A day off and they will be fine.

It doesn't matter how old you are, more days off equals better legs. Think about beating Memphis in a super-charged emotional game and taking over the #1 spot a few years ago, then showing up at Vandy on the following Tuesday slow as Christmas. We got drubbed because we were worn out.

Our conditioning has obviously improved now, but it would be better if this game were Wednesday instead of Tuesday.

I drove down to College Station from Fort Hood with my wife and son. It was a time! My wife (who is an A&M grad) told me after the game that it wasn't as much fun as he games we've been to in Knoxville over the years. HA!

Most importantly, it was a WIN! It was my son's first Tennessee basketball game, so I was excited to get a "W." Having been stationed in Texas at Fort Hood twice now in my career, it is ALWAYS good to hand the Aggies and the Longhorns a loss so I don't have to listen to their fans' crap.

The Vols are now 2-0 when me and my boy are in attendance (we watched the baseball team beat Texas in Houston last year). As always, it's GREAT to be a Tennessee Vol!

You have proof of this? Any studies to support that UTs legs will be dead when we play the game Tuesday night?

That comparison is a lot different than the game this past Saturday. Taking on the number 1 team in the nation in Memphis then turning around and playing a ranked Vandy team in Nashville on a 2 day turn around is way different than winning a hard road game and coming home to host the #5 team in the nation.

As for the 'dead leg' theory. When I was that age I remember being able to play a football game on a Friday night and physically able to do it again the next night if need be. Kids recuperate quicker. Your logic is flawed.

People seem to forget most of these kids have been on the AAU circuit and they play play and play. This is where a good strength and conditioning coach comes into play, plus it will get the guys ready for the tourney..

Just my thoughts gents, carry on.

AAU plays no D and that's where energy is spent if you are a well coached team.

A lot of teams play 3 games in 3 days in preseason tourneys, heck we may play 3 or 4 days in a row in SECT, NCAAT you may play 2 in less than 48 hours.

Playing a game, on 72+ hours of rest after a 4OT game shouldn't be that much of an issue.

I was in Snowshoe this weekend, but two of my friends and I were watching on ESPN3 via iPad in the lodge hearth room. We made a scene, but the 4OTs were good for business at the bar, so no reprimands. It did cut into our night boarding time, but it was worth it.

Two absolutely monster games now on DVR to watch again during the summer.

The Tommy should be a rockin' Tuesday night!

GO VOLS!

Plus, we didn't get "drubbed" by Vandy following that Memphis win. If I recall, it was a one or two possession game. Tough turnaround game after a high of beating the number one ranked team.

Awesome! Thank you from all of VN for your service to this great Country.

My bad on the use of the word "drubbed," but if you watched that game, we were dead on our feet. It was a tough turnaround game, as you say, and this could be one, too. That's my point.

We were down 14 at one point, and closed strong to make a game of it, so you weren't completely wrong.

The difference between that game and this one is, we get this game at home coming off the road. Also, the Florida game is more of the pinnacle in the two-game stretch, whereas Vandy was sort of the comedown game following the climax of the Memphis game.

I think you have a valid point, in that it will be a tough turnaround. Lots of emotion and energy spent in a four OT game on the road when you are playing for your NCAA tournament life. Certainly moreso than in a convincing win at home, like Florida had.

Like I said... The guys looked fresh and ready to play last night.
