The Thread Where People Argue About Kneeling in the NFL (merged)

I'd like to see a stat on kneelers in 20 years and see how many have put their money to work and how many have blown it and are broke.

Why? Can't you guys just oppose people like grownups without hating them?

Unless you think their 401k status somehow discredits them?

Well, because people (I am not saying me) believe what the players are doing is "hating" on the country which is "hating" on them, as they are one of The People. Just my take, I am not saying you have to agree as to the why.

Technically speaking, people are handling it like grownups - I don't see anyone hurting any of these guys.

Right, it's totally the same thing. NFL players are eagerly anticipating that volstrom goes broke.

They could have done a positive thing for the NFL and football in general and get so many more behind them if they would have used some of their resources (pocket change to a lot of them) to fund a symposium. That would have gotten free news coverage. They could have produced a well made documentary for prime time television that would go Netflix, or even release theaters prior to that. Any number of positive ways to get the message across to a larger general public than the very disrespectful way they chose. One they didn't think would cost them a dime.

Well, you are not getting the answers you want - I can't help you there. Whether you agree or not is immaterial, that is the answer for many. I don't think this is just one thing but at the end of the day, it doesn't matter.

It seems like the officials need to get into the protest business, as it appears violence against zebras is up significantly this year. :eek:lol:

So you are equating unarmed people being shot by cops to bumping/shoving a ref? That's probably the problem.

I know something about bathrooms or depends.

dammit, just when I thought I knew what this was all about, someone else comes up with a theory. Of course, how did I miss this - it was about the gender pay gap. :eek:lol: I should have seen this coming, next up - world hunger.

So, all you smart guys, you're not that smart - the guy killing people with his car while drunk has it all figured out now.

Donte Stallworth, former NFL star: National anthem protests also about 'gender pay gap' - Washington Times

Former NFL star Donté Stallworth says sources within the league have another rationale for ongoing national anthem protests: the “gender pay gap.”
Mr. Stallworth, a CNN contributor who played in the league for 10 years, says the players’ actions represent “a broad spectrum of issues.”
“From what I’m hearing from players directly involved in these talks, they’re telling me it’s also about the gender pay gap, it’s also about housing discrimination, they have so many things that they are interested in and advocating for and they want the NFL to take ownership in and help be able to use the NFL’s platform,” the former receiver told the network Saturday.

Let them kneel.

They are employees so their employer can fire them if they do not follow workplace rules ( disagree with them kneeling ).

Take away all tax subsidies since they are disrespecting our nation. They will fold and come back crawling...

And I'll continue to not watch the NFL anymore. It's sad that this is such a big issue when there is so much more going on.

I thought it was about people having bathroom problems bc that's all you seem capable of diagnosing.

I think this dude was one of the guys hiding in butts, I don't think he's a toilet man.... but I could be wrong.
