The Thread Where People Argue About Kneeling in the NFL (merged)

And they same could be said of the people not liking the boycott, how do they get through life, you really aren't doing anything different. I have no idea how we all would get through life without the NFL. (giggle)

If anything kills the NFL, it will be CTE. Not because some ticket holders got their feelings hurt and stopped going to the games.

Well, who knows how life works out. I don't recall all the experts predicting an Orange Man in the White House last year. For the record, I have never said this would kill the NFL - I did say there is nothing for the NFL to gain (win) out of the situation and that it is a lose situation. The NFL has already lost - all this is about at this point is how much they will lose. I love the entertainment, much better than the games. imo

Now that we are done with all that... back to the circus.

Michael Bennett of Seattle Seahawks says job for Colin Kaepernick first step before moving ahead with owners

"I think the first step to even being able to even have a conversation is making sure that Colin Kaepernick gets an opportunity to play in the NFL," Bennett said Wednesday. "I think before we even negotiate anything about whether we sit, whether we stand [during the national anthem], it should be a negotiation about opening up the doors for Colin Kaepernick and giving him an opportunity again, because I feel like through everything, that's been lost.
"All of us are having an opportunity to be able to speak to our employers, but to think about the guy who started everything not to be able to have a voice at this moment, it just doesn't seem very right to me."

So, its about "negotiating" a deal to get the guy that loves brutal dictators back in the league? I get confused as what week it is and which version of what they are doing - we need like software version control.

Bennett was critical of the stance taken recently by Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who said any of his players who don't stand for the anthem will not play. Bennett called that "crazy" and "inconsiderate of a person being a human being."

You mean like "crazy" and "inconsiderate" like making up a story that some cops beat you up kind of crazy? :eek:lol:

"It reminded me of the Dred Scott case: You're property, so you don't have the ability to be a person first," Bennett said. "I think that in this generation, I think that sends the wrong message to young kids and young people all across the world that your employer doesn't see you as a human being, they see you as a piece of property, and if that's the case, then I don't get it. I just don't get why you don't see us as human beings first."

Oh boy, this is truly the gift that keeps on giving for many years. :eek:lol:

I love the "then I don't get it" part, freaking hilarious. That sound, is the sound of dollar bills going out of the NFL door.

Is it possible to have a country without a government? Yes.

Your girlfriend may have herpes, but that doesn't mean she is herpes.

Name any country of significance that has no form of government.....stupid analogy by the way.....please tell me where I said American is defined by our government.....

You couldn't just say "country =/= government", you responded to his question with something inane, so it sure seems like you're saying "country = government".

Maybe Michael Bennett should go ask Paul Allen, Pete Carroll, and John Schneider why the Seahawks didn’t sign Colin Kaepernick after working him out in June.

Your interpretation is not worth $0.02....

Interpretation of what? I don't think even you can explain what you were trying to say at the beginning, bro.

My $0.02 on patriotism...way too much of our patriotic focus is on the government aspect of our country and not nearly enough on the community aspect.

Definition of patriotism: love for or devotion to one's country.

You get change back from your $0.02......

Thanks for the definition that everybody already knew.

Does country = government?

Do you have a country without government?

(No government is perfect)

wtf

He doesn't have to listen to The Man, but The Man must listen to him. You would think someone in his family would say something to him. Does anyone actually believe this guy got out of high school by himself. (not a question) I see he had no problem signing a $30m contract with The Man last year, apparently Paul Allen didn't coddle him enough. His comments are more similar to a 5th grader who hasn't taken a social studies class yet, and is throwing a tantrum that "it's not fair".

If I was Colin Kaepernick, I probably wouldn't take less than $25m a year for like 5 years, as I have all these stupid clowns in the league acting as my agents. I wonder what would happen, if some team offered the Communist a minimum NFL salary deal? Bennett would probably say that needs to be addressed as well. :eek:lol:

The "then I don't get it" comment is spot on, meaning I really don't think he gets it, that is quite sad a grown man that has gone through 16+ years of school doesn't have even basic skills needed in life. He is going to have a rough go keeping his money when his playing days are over I suspect.

I have friends in the military who for the most part do not care at all. If they aren't angry, why the hell would I be.

This has become a giant south park episode in real life where every easily triggered hot head in this country is trying to one up each other in a game of who can scream the loudest about how big of a patriot they are. It's just blatant and cringeworthy.

You clearly weren’t reading when he told you his viewpoint was the correct one. Lol

We see the world differently.
Mine is the correct way.
Whether or not you decide live your cushy life honoring all those who died or were wounded to insure you have the freedoms to disrespect the flag and anthem ceremony, to protest where legal -and the "Well just look back at the way the '60s & '70s civil rights protestors and venues they chose were treated, & etc & so on DOES NOT apply. Virtually any and all combat Vets have served and fought alongside enough black brothers that we indeed would support them. But this group of trifling bozos in the NFL don't get to piss on my dead friends sacrifice and claim their BLM issue supercedes the solumn respect they deserve without me, and millions more of our comrades in arms and their surving families taking issue and calling BS.

When I first saw players taking a knee, I lost caring about any team in the NFL, or any single player on any team, in about a New York second. I doubt I'll ever care again.

Oh I'm sure they're losing sleep over some weeping washout snotting all over his recliner.

Well, those poor millenials got their feelings hurt when Trump called them SOB's. I'm sure these spoiled players have called others worse.

What are all the kneelers doing for the inner cities that they care so much for? Are they kneeling for black on black crime? Nah didn't think so.

What are you talking about? NFL players are heavily involved in giving back to the community.

We get it. You hate darkies.

They're at work. You don't see them coming to your job and telling you how to fellate properly.

Oh my bad. So ALL NFL kneelers are involved in giving back to the community?

What's those numbers and percentage genius?

Yes...their teams have rules about this and obligate them to attend events, so even if they are total selfish douches, they are giving back.

What makes you assume they aren't? You just make up an idea to fit a false narrative, and then you attack them on it. Pretty responsible politics there, buddy.
