The tide is about to turn in UT recruiting

Hey, again, I hope I'm wrong, I just know we lost one of our biggest recruits to UNC, have a couple other key recruits who still seem to be somewhat looking around (Ambles, Taylor), and aren't likely to land many other big name recruits outside of the offensive line based on what I'm reading. We need some LBs and Secondary players, and it looks like we are coming up on the short end of the stick for most of the ones we went after.

Ambles is about as solid as it gets. and Taylor just like the praise he is getting from being a UA mvp. He'll be a vol in the end. We'll get a big name or two in the secondary. Robey, Dixon, and Wright are all names to look out for. We very well may be done at LB. but i think Michael Taylor AND Ralph Williams will be studs. I think there is a surprise or two left in store before NSD.

i dont know TP. i dont think we catch texas auburn florida and bamer. just my opinion, but he would almost have to have a clean sweep and i don't see that happening

Auburn will end the recruiting wars ranked somewhere around 10. As will Ok. Too many recruits and no room to improve. After we have 22 recruits we will pass these two. Look carefully at the rankings.

Our 19 rank almost as highly as their 27!

lol at the way this thread is turning...

I'm just being realistic. Of our uncommitted Jan 15 OV's, we have one LB and one DB, and I would say both of those are big longshots. We still have some great players and look to have a solid recruiting class, but it appears to be far from the hyperbole that it was generating a few months ago. I think top 10 is about where we should hope to be, best case scenario. Nothing wrong with that of course, it's just a little harder when the rest of the SEC is above you.

Are you aware that with the Dixon commit, we are already in the top 10 lol? And we still have 8 spots to fill. This class is going to be top 7 EASY...

Again, I hope I'm wrong. It's just with all the negativity surrounding our program now, I just wouldn't be surprised if that doesn't happen.

How could it not happen, only if like Ambles Taylor Meline and everyone thats even thought of taking other visits drops us and we fill with a bunch of three stars. Obviously I know stars mean nothing but if you look at the "rankings" of the guys we have a legit shot with, we will be top ten, probably top 5

we actually have to get players to commit and keep the ones we have. so far that hasn't worked out to well. auburn can't improve, but are 3rd in the nation and we have to catch them.

I hope you're right man.

I'd love to see a commit from Mr. Green. I think our OL looks to be set. I love our offense's future, but I'm a bit worried about our Defense outside of the D Line.

Most of the "negativity" around our program comes from posters (like yourself) who only want to see the bad in whats happening. All these "the sky is falling" posts are lowering the moral of our fan base.

Top 5. UT, UF, USC, Tx, Bama will be the Top 5. Before anyone comments my list is in no particular order.

While jumping to conclusions and generalizations are fun, there is something called reality. I live there. I want nothing but good things for this program. Why on earth would I want to see "that bad" in our program? I happen to know that we have been in the news twice in the past 6 months for players being arrested involving guns and drugs. That isn't good for the fans or prospective recruits. Wake up.

I didn't say the sky is falling, but I do know we have lost recruits and missed out on other key names as well. Not to mention we lost by 3 touchdowns to an ACC team that didn't even win it's division. What would you call that? Denial is a tricky thing my friend.

You can be realistic and criticize something without being a traitor. I'm just not sure what as fans we have to really be proud of over the past year or so. I admire your loyalty, but I think it's a slippery slope to plain delusion.

You are out of touch with reality. You cannot grasp the fact that in reality, UT will EASILY have a top 10 class. But thanks for ruining a positive thread...

I can grasp that. I have said as much. And I agree, that is a good thing. It's just a little disappointing considering we were hoping to have a top 3 class a few months ago, and it looks like a few of our rivals will be accomplishing that instead. Is disappointment not allowed here on the recruiting board? Am I in communist China?

Disappointment is allowed; it's just unwarranted. Did you think Bama and UF were just going to fall off the face of the Earth in recruiting or something. There was talk about UF having the #1 class. That is not going to happen. We will be right there with both of them when it is said and done...

Our biggest weakness this past season was QB and O-line. Are we not addressing these issues in this class? Prospects will change their minds. They are 18 after all. Hell after we canned Fulmer we had a lot of kids decommit. Look where we wound up. I really fail to see and negatives around our program right now. Other then the hostess thing that is. but even that really isn't that bad. We've had one player that we really wanted decommit. the others were "persuaded" to look around. Chill out and enjoy the ride.

so you don't have anything, i'm really looking for something. i look at alot of other schools lining up the 4 and 5 star recruits and see us losing ours. that is not positive. now if chaz green commits along with cullen and dixon or riley that is what i call positive. lately the only thing we hear about on our campus is guns drugs and people getting robbed. to me that is negative, and makes it hard to keep the faith. THAT IS FACT. DO YOU HAVE ANY.
