The tide is about to turn in UT recruiting

I can grasp that. I have said as much. And I agree, that is a good thing. It's just a little disappointing considering we were hoping to have a top 3 class a few months ago, and it looks like a few of our rivals will be accomplishing that instead. Is disappointment not allowed here on the recruiting board? Am I in communist China?

If you thought Florida and Alabama weren't going to sign highly ranked classes this year then you probably deserve to feel disappointed.

Our biggest weakness this past season was QB and O-line. Are we not addressing these issues in this class? Prospects will change their minds. They are 18 after all. Hell after we canned Fulmer we had a lot of kids decommit. Look where we wound up. I really fail to see and negatives around our program right now. Other then the hostess thing that is. but even that really isn't that bad. We've had one player that we really wanted decommit. the others were "persuaded" to look around. Chill out and enjoy the ride.

true i agree with all this, but looking at what other SEC schools are doing as well it just makes me sick. in my opinion for us to catch up we are going to have to get the better recruits. it is just the way it is.

so you don't have anything, i'm really looking for something. i look at alot of other schools lining up the 4 and 5 star recruits and see us losing ours. that is not positive. now if chaz green commits along with cullen and dixon or riley that is what i call positive. lately the only thing we hear about on our campus is guns drugs and people getting robbed. to me that is negative, and makes it hard to keep the faith. THAT IS FACT. DO YOU HAVE ANY.

:lolabove: Would you or SeanJean like to make a sig bet on where we finish this class? I'll say top 7. I wanna see you all back that mouth up...

I don't care about recruiting rankings... I care about getting talent. The two teams that appeared to just absolutely overwhelm UT with talent this year were Ole Miss and Va Tech. UT looked outclassed by both. Between the two of them their highest ranked class of the last 4 was 16th according to Rivals. Both schools missed on being in the top 25 twice in the last 4 years.

If the staff can find talent like that even without "stars" then I'll be happy.

Well we knew from the beginning that Florida and Alabama would have a better class then we did. Finishing close to these schools in recruiting is a victory in my book. we played both of them close this year with way less talent. just imagine what we can do with greater talent.

I don't want you to get the wrong idea. I'm not hoping we fail. I have nothing to gain from that. My blood runs orange. I'm just a little hesitant, that's all. Not a lot of good news surrounding the UT program the past few months, and I have yet to see any signs of that changing.

I don't know why everyone is so defensive and delusional about everything like we are speaking heresy if we criticize our program.

no personally though i was hoping we would do better than them.

It's unrealistic to expect a barely above .500 team to outrecruit the last 2 National Champions, especially when you have only 2 or 3 SEC-caliber prospects in your state.

sorry vader to me your just unrealistic. this is tennessee, we need to get back on top.

what is unrealistic? you thinking UT is gonna outrecruit UF and Bama when we haven't done a whole lot on the field and have no in-state talent in very, very unrealistic...

don't worry dude he is always like that. he means well though.

It's really not unrealistic. You can't bring a 5-7 team back to the top overnight. Hell the way we're going now is better then i think most of us could have imagined after Fulmer was canned.

maybe, but it does have me second guessing alot of the things kiffin does though.

No offense, but nothing about this season necessarily gives me the warm and fuzzies. Yeah we went to a bowl, but we still got our asses kicked to an ACC team in Atlanta. I think we're headed in the right direction, but I certainly could have imagined much better results at this point.
