The Tiger Woods saga

Finishing around 20ish has to be considered a success, but man, he has to drive it better if he's going to win anything.

His short to mid game has been pretty darn good this weekend.

He’s definitely back, getting every shot on the broadcast with little coverage outside the last group.

What do you expect the Golf Channel to show at 11am local time on Sunday? The leaders are just going off and Tiger was the only guy on the course making a move.

Disagree as Day was making a move early. They showed a replay clip of his first birdie putt between Tiger shots.

I get why they showed Tiger but let’s not pretend he was making a move. Matsuyama was making more of a move, was playing with Tiger, and barely was shown when I was watching.

As tough as it played today, getting to -5 with a birdie putt on 12 qualifies as a move. To each his own, but I never get the "They show too much Tiger" stuff; especially when he's playing as early as he did today.

Yep. Had one of the best rounds going at the time. 95 is delusional.

The Lion King is just having a problem finding the correct shaft for his new M3 driver. When he finds it, he will be fine. He's putting great.

Just a shaft away........okay.

didn't say it would be 2001 again....just that he would be ok...

plus ....the shaft he played in LA was 10 grams lighter than he usually plays with a different kick point.

so yea......a shaft away:dry:

So, he never practiced with it before the tournament? He hasn't driven the ball well for years.

Nope....he picked up a stock demo in the shop....sight unseen.

There are several reasons he hasn’t driven the ball well in yrs.

His specs are exactly the same in every club in his bag since the late 90’s......except the driver (that’s just one)

Tiger is dead, get over it. Been irrelevant for several years. Will never touch the Golden Bear.

He used to have a Titleist PT-15 3 wood with an X100 Dynamic Gold shaft in the late 90's. He still using it?

In the late 1990's his driver went from a King Cobra 8.5 degree with a 120+ gram X100 steel shaft (43-5/8 inches long) to a Titleist 975D 6.5 degree X100 steel shaft (43-3/4 inches long) both at D3 swingweight to whatever he is using now. I think it's a Taylor Made M3, and I'm going to guess it's at least an inch longer, and much lighter.

Butch Harmon did not want Tiger to even try a longer, lighter graphite shaft when he was his coach.

I said except driver......read
Missed 3 wood.... Oops

Btw...... I'm not a tiger fan, I just know by really watching his swing, he is close to being competitive again.

There is a whole lot more competition now than they was in his heyday. Jason Day, Dustin Johnson, Spieth, McIlroy, Fowler, Justin Thomas......to name a few. He won't be playing against Davis Love, Colin Montgomery, and Tom Lehman now.
