The Tiger Woods saga

Hitting it ok, but he's all over the place off the tee and that rough is nasty. Looks like he's moving a lot with the driver making him struggle. He'll work that out.

Best thing he's got going for him though is that Scotty putter being back in the bag.

He's blowing up on the back after birding 10 and 11

About what I expected. He drove it sideways and struggled. Short game was better than I thought it would be though. Didn't drain a lot of long putts, but he pitched it well and saved a few shots.

He didn't strain anything, so I guess it's a win.

Now only 12 back, since Rose bogeyed. All Tiger has to do is cut about 3 shots off every 9 holes, and he will be right there.

It will be really easy for him playing at Jupiter Island while everyone else struggles with Torrey Pines

lulz...

He's still got a lot of positives to take away from his play , with number one being he didn't tweak his back, or appear to have any problems with it

Unfortunately, that's probably the only cure. It's probably going to be like this for the rest of his career. Feel ok for awhile, then out of the blue hurt like hell.

Yea. Back injuries are a funny thing. They never seem to get "normal" again.

I have played with a bad back for 45 years. Some days, I feel like I can make a decent turn, other days, I am stiff as a board. Of course, I'm 67, so some stiffness is probably normal now. I'm sure that one can't play on that level every day, or every week with bad back troubles.

Now, I just go out when I feel like it. When the back gets stiff, it's really hard. It messes up your rhythm when your swing gets shorter. I remember that Nicklaus and Couples had to withdraw a few times with back spasms.

I had a football coach tell me you better hope you never hurt your knees or your back, because they'll never be the same. Luckily I've hurt neither seriously.

I've hurt my one knee (torn meniscus and ACL), and I'd say relatively the same.

I've heard the same about backs though. I hope I never do that.
